Gates defends controversial book

Bob Gates defended his new book Sunday, after some pundits blasted the former defense secretary for criticizing a sitting president and an administration in which he recently served.
In an interview with CBS’s “Sunday Morning,” Gates said the partisan culture of Washington was quick to focus on the negative statements in the book, but less interested in the positive marks he gave President Barack Obama.
But he stood by everything he wrote.
"The way people are looking at the book reflects the polarization of our political process at this point," he said. "A lot of people – not everybody – (are) going to look at this book in terms of how does it advance (their) particular political agenda, or how does it damage (their) political agenda.”

Robert Gates should have condemned Obama for keeping us in both Iraq and Afghanistan after 2009! Obama has reneged on almost every promise that he made back in 2008. We'll still butchering people in Afghanistan, Pakistan and only God knows which other countries with those ungodly drones and Apache helicopters while Gitmo remains open and the tortures go on!!!
The shame of it is this is the only way to get that transparency Obama loves to talk about.
If you have an employee making mistakes, you fix the problem. In this case Gates should have came out sooner and told us that our employee was making mistakes. All we need to do now is fix the problem.
And yet he stayed in the job instead of quiting. But the GOP would be happy if we were still in two wars.
And why he did it... if was not to advance his commercial agenda from the selling of his book, and embarrassed the person who allowed him to keep his job after many failures in Iraq and Afghanistan. What a double face an opportunistic traitor.
Mr. Gates, please continue to tell the truth exposing Obama's many faults. Obama is a disgrace to America, and those who ignorantly supported him need to understand that Obama is unfit to hold office.
