Wife of U.S. pastor held in Iran pleads for his freedom

CNN's Ashley Frantz

The wife of an American pastor imprisoned in Iran pleaded with a House subcommittee on foreign affairs Thursday to do something to free her husband.

Naghmeh Abedini said that her husband, Saeed Abedini, went to Iran to build an orphanage but was imprisoned unjustly because of his Christian beliefs.

This administration is too weak and scared to tell Iran to hand over the Pastor. The Pastor is Christian therefore it is not important for this Administration to negotiate his freedom. If he was muslim that would be a different story.

Id love to see his return as an act of good faith. That said, Kerry should probably be talking to his bud at russia and see if we cant reach some mutual understanding so they can stop posturing and presenting in such a way that leads to escalation by itself regardless of what happens. Neither country is in a position to weather a blow from the other. It is insanity to suggest it.
