U.S., Afghanistan reach security agreement

The United States and Afghanistan have "reached an agreement as to the final language of the bilateral security agreement" between the two countries, America's top diplomat said Wednesday.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said the accord was reached during conversations Wednesday between himself and Afghan President Hamid Karzai.

So, the Afghan president can bash the U.S. anytime he wants and we offer 10 years of free security? WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE!
Unfortunately Afghan politicos have to answer to the Afghanis, and we are not very popular in the Middle East. . All nations bash the US since we're considered the biggest and the badest pit bull in town.
So, the Afghan president can bash the U.S. anytime he wants and we turn around and give him 10 years of free security?
It's a fact that with our aid to the Mujahideen the Russians pulled out of Afghanistan leaving a political void that was quickly filled by the Taliban. Is this what the majority of Afghans want today? Leaving a small logistic training group in a nation we have occupied for years makes sense. Pulling out now leaves them no better off than when the Russians left. The lack of a political agreement with the post war Iraqi government resulted in the chaos we see there today. A little common sense and a sense of history is what is needed here!
Why?
Because we kept fronts clear. They need us to invest largely militarily around the world , away from where their current operation is running. It is an elaborate game of hot potato . Because we managed not to start wwIII with russia over syria it put the gihadis at a disadvantage with no way to divide our force projection. They can't win if we only invest in the war fighting their current operations. They NEED us to be the majority of the force defeating us. They must be losing ground in afganistan so they tried to shift focus. Had we gotten involved in syria this deal would have fallen threw to let afganistan cycle to the rear and another nation to take the front lines. Once the plan fell threw to goat us into syria and war with russia afganistan was sacrificed to sustain a front other than where we need to be focusing.
Hmm, well played Karzi. It would seem Afgani's are unsure they are willing to be the sacrificial lambs for gihad. This would lend credence to the idea that not all actors on the stage are aware of their parts. It will be interesting to watch this play out. It may turn out that he is going against orders postponing this. It all depends on who decided to postpone.
Well put George and Darryl... I voted for Obama twice and was promised an end to this in 2014. Kerry remarked that "they have to pass it... it is up to the people of Afghanistan".. how about having what happens to our troops and tax dollars be up to the American people? Americans do not want this continued occupation...
As an American William, neither do I. This occupation is both illegal and immoral as we have no more right to be in that country any more than the Russians did back in the 1980's. This proves that the Russians at least had the sense to get out of there back in 1989 and therefor, smarter than us!
It appears that our obscene occupation of Afghanistan is going to continue, no matter what!!! This only proves that the Russians are smarter than we are! Besides, it will remain a bottomless pit for our tax dollars!!!
yeah Im not the only one who see's it eh. What can we do but do our best to shut them down when we can.
What sense do it make to tie down US troops in Afghanistan and close base in the US? Mr. Secretary whats really wrong with your thinking?
Kerry is confused as always, remember the "I voted for the war before I voted against it"
