What the terror raids say about an 'Obama Doctrine'

By Josh Levs

U.S. raids in pursuit of two terrorists over the weekend threw a question surrounding President Obama into the spotlight: Does he have a guiding doctrine for foreign policy?

The operations in Somalia and Libya, only one of which went as planned, come after the Obama administration silenced its drumbeat toward a possible military attack on Syria.

Some analysts say the developments make Obama's "doctrine" more clear than ever. Others say what's more clear than ever is that this president doesn't have one - which may, or may not, be a good thing.

"The two raids over the weekend show that President Obama remains very comfortable deploying special operations forces in countries the United States is not at war with as a means to combat terrorist groups, just as he is comfortable with the use of CIA drones for the same purpose in countries such as Pakistan and Yemen," says CNN National Security Analyst Peter Bergen.

I have been browsing online more than 3 hours lately, yet I by no means discovered any attention-grabbing article like yours. It?¦s pretty value enough for me. In my opinion, if all website owners and bloggers made just right content material as you probably did, the net might be a lot more useful than ever before.

those nobodies were terrorist leaders who pose a threat to Americans. Obama has shown the determination to go after the terrorists who attack us or threaten us. Bush talked big – but he never got he job done. Bush was only able to lie to the public to get us into two wars.
As the president he cannot deal with a single issue at a time. The terrorists don't stand in line and wait for him to have the time to deal with them. He cannot afford to focus on only domestic issues. Bush was able to avoid focusing on domestic issues by going to war – that did not work out so well, did it?
We are a nation of laws. It means nothing at all if we pick and choose which laws we want to respect and which we want to ignore. Then our democracy will be a memory and we will be no better than a dictatorship run by the wealthy.

What these obscene raids really say is that neither Barack Obama nor any of his henchmen have any respect for international law nor the rights of sovereign countries. How would we Americans feel if the French were to send in their special forces over here in America in order to kidnap whoever they wished? Wouldn't al least some of you feel angry?

How can raids on Muslim terrorist countries be considered obscene. What is truly obscene is Muslim attack on shoppers in the mall in Nairobi. What is even more obscene is Pakistan's bombing of a church which killed innocent Christians. Obama is doing humanitarian service to the world by killing or capturing Muslim terrorists.

Err no! Premeditated armed aggression is one of the highest international crimes. If we don't respect the laws that we helped to bring about, then what good is our word?

I would think africans appreciate our efforts after the mall.

It was kinda handy timing. As if to say to the world who thinks the us is in some sort of trouble with the shut down, the shut down is self inflicted for the sake of politics. If politicians didnt want it it wouldnt happen. Our military is still fully capable. As much as some would love to believe we are crippled , we are not. Our politicians are mentally crippled, but they are not all the sharpest tools in the shed.

How obama could expect his numbers to go up by aggressive actions is beyond me. Americans flipped their lids when he was trying to get the keys to the missiles for syria... If anything it stood to hurt him, but reinforce the above point.

It shows me how little he cares about the American people and, how much he thinks he is showing the world. He won't take the time to deal with issues here but he will put time and effort into actions against two no bodies that matters to no one. In the long run is going to cost the American taxpayers millions in legal fees. If he want to go after terrorist he should have started with Reid.
