Why Obama is not cutting aid to Egypt

More than 900 people have died in the violence across Egypt over the past week. And now, 51% of Americans say the United States should cut off the $1.3 billion in military aid we give that country each year.

But the Obama administration said Monday it hasn't yet decided – its review of the situation is still "ongoing."

Egypt on edge amid questions about U.S. aid

One, incredibly powerful group wants to keep the money flowing to egypt.

CNN's Chris Lawrence reports for Erin Burnett OutFront.

America is the root of all terror. America has invaded sixty countries since world war 2.
In 1953 America overthrow Iran's democratic government Mohammad Mosaddegh and installed a brutal dictator Shah. America helped Shah of Iran to establish secret police and killed thousands of Iranian people.
During Iran-Iraq war evil America supported Suddam Hossain and killed millions of Iranian people. In 1989, America, is the only country ever, shot down Iran's civilian air plane, killing 290 people.
In 2003,America invaded Iraq and killed 1,000,000+ innocent Iraqi people and 4,000,000+ Iraqi people were displaced.
Now America is a failed state with huge debt. Its debt will be 22 trillion by 2015.

I couldnt agree more to help police or military in Egypt, cause they must stop dead those Muslim Brothers or whatever such bearded characters threatening all of us , meaning Western civilizations until all of us men and women alike start looking like them. So, USA must help in any way possible except actually fighting Egyptian war on the ground.

Did anyone here seriously expect Obama to cut economic and military aid to Egypt? Like any true right-winger, he'll never do that. In fact, he'd much rather cut funding to our schools, lay off police and firemen and let our roads and bridges fall into disrepair and thus making our highways less safe for all of us!!!

@George,get your facts straight bud its republican led red states who are cutting education, public sector jobs before the sequester and that sequester that you think is Pres.Obamas remember bud it was republicans who almost unanimously voted in both houses for the sequester thinking if Romney won they'd go in and change things but as usual republicans screwed up again losing and your party not pres.Obama is left holding the bag,the way he designed it idiot!!Your republican reps also voted whole heartedly for defense cuts as well and that's why you had Benghazi because of cuts in security the result of defense cuts they did effect that outcome whether you thought so or not!!

What a flawed argument it is to say cutting military aid to extremist countries embroiled in violence will cost jobs. The US can more than easily cut and/or divert that money and give those weapons to legit allied nations that are at peace and still save some hundreds of millions or even billions of dollars trimming that budget down. We could even divert that money to help fund our own military that's being cut by the Sequester.

Also, how is it that we are giving 1.3 billion dollars in aid to Egypt this year when in the video it details that how we give over double the money in aid by giving military contractors money to make weapons? Erin Burnett does an excellent job showing that $400 million goes to General Dynamics to produce 400 million dollars in value of military equipment for Egypt plus $2.5 billion to Lockheed to produce 2.5 billion dollars in value of military equipment for Egypt. (see video above for source.) I'm no math genius, but this adds up to $2.9 billion dollars in value of military aid sent to Egypt. This is just through two companies at that. This implies that we may even be spending more money than that to prop up Egypt, a country well known for its history of coups, extremist groups, and war.

Also think about this in the backdrop of the Sequester. Just a week ago on this same blog is an article about how we are cutting contracts to build our own military equipment for our own soldiers, but yet we are still literally giving weapons to people that will probably be against us sooner or later. It's just not a wise policy going forward to be doing business this way.

No, he hates all Muslims as the M.I.C. pays him to do. I still don't whether he hates Muslims simply because his father was one or that he's simply hating them for the sheer pay he gets from the all powerful M.I.C. in Washington. Most probably, both!!!
