Source: al Qaeda leader urged affiliate to 'do something'

By Barbara Starr

A message from al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri to his second in command in Yemen told him to "do something," causing U.S. and Yemeni officials to fear imminent terrorist action, CNN has learned.

For weeks, U.S. and Yemeni officials watched a rising stream of intelligence about the possibility of a major terrorist attack in Yemen but grew increasingly alarmed after intercepting a message within the past several days said to be from al-Zawahiri, who is believed to be in Pakistan. The message was sent to Nasir al-Wuhayshi, the leader of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, the terror group's Yemeni affiliate. U.S. intelligence believes al-Wuhayshi has recently been appointed the overall terror organization's No. 2 leader.

U.S. officials cautioned that there may be multiple sources of intelligence including intercepts of electronic information from phone calls, web postings, but also interrogation of couriers or other operatives.

CNN had the information over the weekend and decided not to report the details about al-Zawahiri's involvement based on U.S. government concerns about the sensitivity of the information. Now that it has been widely reported in other media, including the New York Times and McClatchy, CNN has now decided to report it as well.

The United States has heightened its security stance by issuing a worldwide travel alert and closing a number of embassies and consulates over a large area of the Middle East and Africa this week.

The White House said the substantial security steps reflect an "abundance of caution" over intelligence information that indicated final planning by al Qaeda in Yemen for possible terrorist attacks on Western targets to coincide with the end of Ramadan this week.

The intercepted message further intensified concerns already heightened by increased terrorist chatter detected by intelligence agencies, as well as a series of prison breaks that freed al Qaeda figures.

A senior official with Iraq's interior ministry told CNN on condition of not being identified that top officials of al Qaeda in Iraq, including Adnan Ismail Najim Abdullah al-Dulaimi, escaped from Abu Ghraib prison during a jailbreak there last month and remain at large.

Yemen is an area of particular concern.

Three sources said the United States has information that members of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula are in the final stages of planning for an unspecified attack.

White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters on Monday that U.S. anti-terrorism efforts had decimated al Qaeda's global leadership and greatly diminished its core in the Afghanistan-Pakistan region. But the threat still posed "has shifted to some of these affiliates, in particular AQAP."

Over the weekend, Interpol warned that al Qaeda has been tied to the prison breaks on July 23 in Iraq, on July 26 in Libya and four days later in Pakistan.

Separately, American special forces units overseas have been on alert for the past several days for a mission to attack potential al Qaeda targets if those behind the most recent terror threats against U.S. interests can be identified, a senior Obama administration official told CNN.

The official declined to identify the units or their locations because of the sensitive nature of the information.

The units, along with several others, were put on heightened alert by Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel last week.

So al-Zawahiri says to al-Wuhayski, "You know, all the other men of al Qaeda are working really hard to improve our image: working ice cream socials, trying hard not to blow up school buses and throw acid in little schoolgirl's faces, helping to coach little league basebomb...I mean ball..And you do nothing but sit around all day, polishing your weapon and watching American reality TV. I mean, Honey Boo Boo??? C'mon. I want you to get off your lazy camel butt and DO SOMETHING!!!"

    And then it started.

Get serious. If not for the Bush/Cheney intel which eventually led to him, Obama would still look like the clueless clown he really is. He could not pass, let alone teach, Leadership 101. He's a pathetic non-leader who has yet to learn lesson number one: You can delegate authority, but never responsibility. You low-information "voters" manipulated by the Democratic press, the tame, Obama's face-licking lapdogs they are, will be the death of this country.

Really Brian? You're a living stereotype of the mindless right-winger – spouting sound-bites from Rush & Sean but saying nothing worth hearing. President Obama actually listens to his Joint Staff, and has the brains to use intelligence information – not just cherry-pick the stuff he likes. The President leverages technology rather than creating great land-wars from the past era. The President has made some bold moves and the results have been outstanding. "W" and "Uncle Dick" made their moves to impress daddy and to keep Halliburton fat & happy. Go on back to Faux News and STFU.

So, this 'Do Something' from psycho #1 to psycho #2 is very 'hush hush', but the Obama administration figured it was a good thing to share with the press? The wisdom of this eludes me, unless maybe the figured the press might actually report on it anyway for a few advertising hits, while they bolster the liberal left in office, and what...distract a few folks from all the messes that are adding up? Bush may not have been bright enough to discriminate between bad intel and good, but he seemed a lot more well intentioned, heartfelt, and honest.

I think we can take much more aggressive pro-active action. If they can intercept their communication, they can find out where they are. Al-Qaeda leaders are breaking out of prison. Maybe we should do some terrorist action and blow these prisons up while they are in there! When they close Guantanamo, those guys are going right backto their terror activities. It is a vicious cycle. There has to be a way to deal these guys a knock out punch. It seems like we are on our heels waiting for them to make their strike.

The whole terror warning thing is almost a joke. Bin Laden hid in Pakistan. Now the other top leaders are there. And Pakistan has about 50 nukes? How long will it take? More serious action needs to be taken. Destruction of Pakistan's nuclear facilities. Maybe backing India in a war against Pakistan. Are they really considered an ally?

I really don't understand this type of thinking. Snowden gives us evidence of government abuse of wiretapping and illegal domestic spying and he's labeled a "traitor" by the government. This is the same government feeding propoganda to CNN reporters so they can use their biggest, boldest font EVA to frighten americans into thinking that an attack is imminent. If an attack were planning to occur, why not deal with it silently instead of informing "The Terrorists (TM)" that's we're on to their plans, thus making them use contingency measures if possible? It's not working anymore guys, I hope every one of the lawbreakers from the highest official downwards is held to account and punished to the fullest extent of the law.

This is widely known by anyone who is not willfully blind to the way such things work. That is literally all Obama had to do to "get" bin Laden: he said "yes, go for it." They have no proof Al-qaeda even made an announcement. They are well known for never using forms of communication that can be intercepted by the US. They would even go so far as using couriers.

Either the US is lying through their teeth to scare people into thinking its ok for them to listen to our phone calls, or Al-Qaeda is messing with them. The more likely scenario is the first one.

'If you have nothing to hide' is a very lame reasoning. All it would take is one minor change to a law and suddenly you'd 'have something to hide.' But since you're squeaky-clean, I'm sure you won't mind me rummaging around in your house/papers/communications on a little witch hunt. Don't worry... I'm sure I won't find anything at all.

LINDBERGH, CHARLES. 20th century American aviator, writer.

    Thursday, May 1, 1941

"The pressure for war is high and mounting. The people are opposed to it, but the Administration seems to have 'the bit in its teeth' and is hell-bent on its way to war. Most of the Jewish interests in the country are behind war, and they control a huge part of our press and radio and most of our motion pictures. There are the 'intellectuals' and the 'Anglophiles,' and the British agents who are allowed free rein, the international financial interests, and many others." (The Wartime Journals)

Sometimes I wonder if we are specatators during the early days leading up to another Great War.

One day these "terrorists" are going to get a real weapon of mass destruction, they will use it on us.

I do not believe the propaganda from our elected representatives, they are far too slick to be truthful

We need to change our elected representation and the organizations (State Dept, CIA, DIA, etc.)

that support them. I'm am finally convinced that it is our leaders who have created this mess in the first

    Attempted Jew false-flag in Mexico
    Mexican Congress Incident
As reported by La Vox De Atzlan, two men posing as press photographers, but in reality being Israeli Mossad agents, were arrested INSIDE the Mexican congress on October 10, 2001 armed with 9mm pistols, 9 grenades, explosives, three detonators, and 58 bullets, but were RELEASED from custody because of pressure from the Israeli embassy.

"We believe that the two Jew terrorist were going to blow up the Mexican Congress. The second phase was to mobilize both the Mexican and US press to blame Osama bin Laden. Most likely then Mexico would declare war on Afghanistan as well, commit troops and all the oil it could spare to combat Islamic terrorism."

The Jewish terrorists names were Salvador Guersson Smecke, age 34, and Saur Ben Zvi, age 27. These Jew terrorists were released because of a very high level emergency meetings took place between Mexican Secretary of Foreign Relations Jorge Gutman, General Macedo de la Concha and a top Ariel Sharon envoy who flew to Mexico City specially for that purpose. Jorge Gutman is of the Jewish descent. Unsurprisingly the Jewed media failed to report on this incident.

Thanks to you, I'm much obliged for such a pleasant stay

Aw, sometimes I grow so tired

Sing my song, I'm goin' 'round the world, I gotta find my girl
On my way, I've been this way ten years to the day
Ramble on, gotta find the queen of all my dreams

Got no time to for spreadin' roots, the time has come to be gone
And though our health we drank a thousand times
      it's time to ramble on

Sing my song, I'm goin' 'round the world
      I've gotta find my girl
On my way, I've been this way ten years to the day
I gotta ramble on, I gotta find the queen of all my dreams

Mine's a tale that can't be told, my freedom I hold dear
How years ago in days of old when magic filled the air
'twas in the darkest depths of Mordor, mm-I met a girl so fair
but Gollum and the evil one crept up and slipped away with her
her, her, yeah, and ain't nothin' I can do, no

I guess I'll keep on ramblin', I'm gonna
Sing my song/Sh-yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah, I've gotta find my baby
I'm gonna ramble on, sing my song
Gonna work my way all around the world
      Baby, baby/Ramble on, yeah

      A-do-do-n-do-n-do-n-do, my baby/Baby
      A-ramble on, baby
      A-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-de-do-de-do-de-do-de-do-de, yeah, yeah/
I can't stop this feelin' in my heart
Everytime I feel I will leave, I really gotta part
Gotta keep searchin' for my baby/
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, babe
I've gotta keep a-searchin'for my baby
My, my, my, my, my, my, my baby/

      Yeah-yeah, yeah-yeah, yeah-yeah, yeah-yeah, yeah-yeah
      Ooh, my, my, my-my, my-my, my-my, yeah/
I can't find my bluebird, I'd listen to my bluebird sing
      but I, I can't find my bluebird
      I keep a-ramblin' baby/ Ah, ah, yeah
I keep a-ramblin', baby/I keep, keep, keep, keep, keep
      Babe, babe, babe, babe/
I keep a-ramblin', baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby
      My, my babe

    Cossiga: "Jews did 9/11"
Former Italian President Francesco Cossiga, who revealed the existence of Operation Gladio, has told Italy's oldest and most widely read newspaper that the 9-11 terrorist attacks were run by the Mossad, and that this was common knowledge among global intelligence agencies. In what translates awkwardly into English, Cossiga told the newspaper Corriere della Sera:

"All the [intelligence services] of America and Europe know well that the disastrous attack has been planned and realized from the Mossad, with the aid of the Jew world in order to put under accusation the Arabic countries and in order to induce the western powers to take part in Iraq [and] Afghanistan."

Wake UP people.... governments like ours find ways to manipulate people just so they fall in line.... just like lambs to slaughter. If its perceived an attack is coming and suddenly with all the "intelligence" we're told it was thwarted....well suddenly the people don't complain so much anymore about their phone calls, e-mails, etc. being hacked and spyed upon. When are we going to wake up and STOP worrying so much about the Kardashians and START worrying about the freedoms being taken from us right before our eyes while they keep us distracted with this nonsense???

perhaps the message was really "take your tactical nukes and attack these locations – kill as many innocents as you can. Spread your biological weapons everywhere." Perhaps this was intercepted, and knowing that people would wonder why they were closing targeted embassies, they decided to "dumb down" the message so that even some idiots on here could understand it.

These terrorists, like varmint rodents in their underground tunnels in the mid-east, got themselves more than two thirds wiped out by the most powerful army in the world after 9/11. They at one time claimed that Bin Laden would never be found. He ended up with a bullet in the head (he was defenseless when we shot him ha ha) Now they've managed to repopulate enough to send a threatening message that has actually turned the heads of Americans. They'll get nowhere.

The President has directed more successful attacks on terrorists than any leader in our history. Do some research rather than listening to Faux News. Your moronic comments prove you've either been asleep for five years or you're just another right-wing bigot who hates our federal government more than al Qaeda.

Susan, the POTUS is the best we've ever had at "doing something" about terrorism. Count the dead terrorists and you'll know why they've been subdued for five years. The al Qaeda terror organization is large, well-funded and fairly sophisticated in their use of information technology and clandestine operations. Regardless of our actions, our right-wing will create a idiotic conspiracy in an attempt to discredit the administration – distorting the facts and demanding the release of all classified intelligence data. For example – what would Rand paul say if, tonight, without his "permission", we kill Ayman al-Zawahiri in a drone attack? You can bet the wingers would find echo his foolish comments and fault with the President's action. If we don't kill Ayman al-Zawahiri they'll claim we're "weak on terror".

I love these official leaks. This follows right on the heals of all the bad press about the NSA, and is nothing more than a justification for whatever programs they want to hold on to. It's designed to clear the headlines. It doesn't matter how real the threat is; these words could simply mean that Al Qaeda is feeling a little desperate. This is exactly the kind of sleazy, obvious, underhanded distraction that causes me to classify politicians with pedophiles.

"Do something" could mean anything – the terror plots are getting lamer and lamer. Keeping the fear going without incurring karma seems to be becoming more difficult for fear mongers and control freaks. In the end all we have is our self-respect. Are the fear mongers of the world prepared to start doing the right thing for themselves and to stop harming people? This is the time to evolve and understand we are here to take care of life: not to dominate, control and brutalize life

Of course the government takes steps. We don't need to be kept in the loop about those steps; we assume that they are effective. Why does this administration feel the need to blab about something that is business as usual? Ever ask yourself that? No, of course you haven't. Why? Because you're a sheep, that's why.

But now we exercise the utmost caution to prevent it from happening again, and everybody is mad that we took precautions. Everybody in AQ is probably laughing their head off watching us run around like chickens trying to out guess them. Regardless of what we do...the terrorists win!

So every time we have a government warning, the only possible explanation is that it is falsified to justify something nefarious by the government? "Read up on propaganda by the govt." – Also read up on national security by the government. It may be one, it may be the other, but somehow I'm doubting you have any proof either way.

Besides, al Qaeda has their own propaganda machine and a neutral news organization in al Jazeera. If we were making this stuff up, they would have a field day mocking us openly. Instead, they just keep on their own message of endless jihad. Unless you're one of those that think the whole rest of the world is in on the NSA's secret tyranny plans...
