@jomama,you know most of what I've said you've found factual so Google McCain the Saigon Songbird and while you're at it look up McCain and the Keating 5 S&L scandal in the 80s that cost Americans over 3.5 billion and McCain walked as well..His miliary records have been ordered sealed by his admiral father the excommander of the NATO task force involved in Vietnam so that's why a lot is not known about his actions in Vietnam, but prisoners there knew him and that's where the name Saigon Songbird came to be!!!

You know Im thinking McCain is thinking of Buying a summer House in Afgan-Land ..He's been over there like four times in the last few months..Either that or..or..The landscape remindes him of Arizona and he wants to see what a truly Religious Conservitive State would look like...Perhaps he's getting pointers on introducing Shiria law in Arizona..Im sure the GOP would be open top that kind of thing..There Imposing a Evangelical form of SHiria on AMerica everyday...Just ask Women and non-whites....They will tell ya all about it...

if i was in charge of the defense cabinet at this point i would focus on entrapment of terrorists, i would make my own camps, sell weapons, organize b s, you name it i would do it – you figure they will find the real people anyways who have the ability to form/fund more 911s – then i would blow them away – that would really be my priority at this point

Actually, John McCain has inadvertently became a national hero back in the 1960's and 70's as a POW in North Vietnam along with 600 others. This is because had they not been interned there, Richard Nixon would have nuked North Vietnam out of existence. That was Nixon's 1968 "secret" plan to "end the war" in Vietnam.

@George Patton, read up on McCain the Saigon Songbird who by other prisoners accounts said he was never mistreated or tortured being the Navy admirals son..Those injuries he recieved are from his jet crash at his own hands being taken care of in a Saigon hospital and being in the under 1% in graduates while in military academy he should of never been allowed to pilot jets but again his fathers rank came in to help didn't it crashing 5 jets before that one in Vietnam...Read facts it'll get you upset about his lies it did me!!

Just getting "out of the fire and into the pan"! McCain has no plan for anything, just like GWB! War is profitable, saving your own people is just an expense! Is he still clamoring to send our troops into Syria?

McCain disgraced this country when he selected Palin for his running mate! What an idiot! Palin was better suited as his bedroom mate, if he had done any research.

McCaIn lost all his credibility when when he chose Sara Palin as his running mate!!! What an idiot! He would have been better off choosing her as his bedroom mate instead!

@usmc1371,you forgot one thing marine Pres.Obama IS THE PRESIDENT OF THESE UNITED STATES!!Not some delushional exvet senator that's railed against his own kind in the senate trying to cut vets health care coverage in Tricare and others..Just quit being so blind and do some reading on your Saigon Songbird marine and after you've researched you'll never look at McCain the same again, believe me!!And Bushs trips have cost more than Pres.Obamas even if only to Crawford Texas because he still used Air Force One bud and he being on vacation over 450 days in his first two years as our phantom president, facts hurt marine and it must hurt that you voted for that imbecile in Bushs as well, right!!

How much do these trips cost and who's paying? Are they really necessary, he goes there pretty frequently. A senator's job is at home not taking trips. If he wants to help military personnel, take on the companies and lobbyists that propel us and extend our wars.

Not a lot in comparison with other war costs. Depends on airlines and passenger class he flew as well as hotels he stayed in, if any. If he just boarded a C-17 cargo plane going to Afghanistan any way, then the cost is basically a few ready-to-eat meals for him and his entourage (he was not alone, was he?).

Usefulness for public/troops? Completely useless, given that US troops are leaving any way and nobody cares about boosting their moral any more. Did't US enter into negotiation with Taliban in Qatar recently? Negotiations about what, exactly?

Usefullness for McCain himself? Probably some. To remind public about his existence. Also bust his own ego by telling fellow senators that he still can do that - 12 to 16 hour flights are actially guite demanding for a person of his age.

Usefulness for CNN - he just added 25 cents for CNN to write about.

Who is paying for all that - Yoouuuuuuuuu, taxpayers. Dont' even ask, just pay.
