U.S. increasing military forces in Jordan

By Tom Cohen

Due to security concerns in Jordan, which borders the Syrian civil war, a combat-equipped detachment of about 700 U.S. troops will remain in the country following training exercises that ended this week, President Barack Obama told Congress on Friday.

In a letter to comply with the War Powers Act, Obama notified Congress that the detachment staying behind at the request of the Jordanian government included "Patriot missile systems, fighter aircraft, and related support, command, control and communications personnel and systems."

"The detachment will remain in Jordan, in full coordination with the government of Jordan, until the security situation becomes such that it is no longer needed," Obama's letter said.

Fools like you are always trying to peddle that garbage, but I'm here to tell you that that dog won't hunt anymore. Israel does not need U.S. forces to protect her from anything whether it be in Syria Jordan or Lebanon. Obama did this because the King of Jordan asked him to leave U.S. soldiers there in case Assad decides to attack Jordan. This has absolutely nothing to do with Israel, so as far as I'm concerned, your just another anti semite Israel hater who knows nothing about U.S. foreign policy, and all your trying to do is push your moronic agenda

As Democratic Party Presidents were the only ones to use Atomics/Nukes, I wonder if Step and Fetch It will join the club? I guess it depends on what Moscow tells him to do.

Minding our own business would be following our founding father's advice. Is that too much to ask? Is it really necessary to put our army in every nation on earth? No wonder people are tired of us.

@George Patton,Pres.Obamas just trying to keep the Syrian revolt from spreading across the whole middle east..You won't see China or Russia stepping in because they'd sell weapons to any faction, country that wants and can afford them, its business as usual because both China,Russias economies are slowing down so here's something to take up the slack for awhile!!

Into the second term it's Obama issue not bush. Grow a pair and claim what Obama has gotten us into. Face it he has turned out to be as bad if not worse then bush was. It's the simple fact he could have and promised to go down a different path but, he just keeps marching in same direction.

@usmc1371,look into history bud the Great Depression of Hoover as president for one term took Roosevelt 12 years to straighten out and do you blame Roosevelt because he didn't fix a catastrophe that took 12 years to fix too long because of then too republicans obstruction from SCOTUS on down every step of the way how historic with republicans isn't it..Remember bud all these problems were done on a republican presidents charge card unfunded and were never paid nor wars created by lies with no bid contracts that made Cheneys Halliburton billions in profits..And I'll claim what's Pres.Obamas fault including your congressional republican obstructionism against him marine when people like you in denile take responsibility for not only voting once but twice in that imbecilic Texan in Bush that caused this catastrophe that was as destructive to America as that Great Depression I refered to before that another republican created, that's fact marine read up!!
