Poll: Worries about Syrian war on the rise
More and more Americans are concerned about the situation in civil-war ravaged Syria, according to a new national survey.
But the CNN/ORC International poll, released Monday, also indicates the public remains cautious over charges that the Syrian government has used chemical weapons against its citizens.
According to the survey, 36% of Americans are very concerned about the current situation in Syria, with 43% saying they are somewhat concerned and nearly one in five not concerned. The 36% who are concerned is up seven percentage points from a CNN poll conducted last August.
There seems to be a generational divide, with 47% of those age 50 and older very concerned. That number drops to 28% for those under 50.

No, Americans aren't worried about a Syrian war. We're sick and tired of foreign wars in which we shouldn't have been in and never want to be in. War hawks get their kicks out of war and that's why we've been in wars 10,000 miles away in which we had no business being in. Let some other country rescue Syria.
If the Syrian government used chemical weapons against the so-called "Free Syrian Army," I think it can be excused. Those in the opposition "army" have been terrorizing the people of Syria for over 2 years now. They have caused a heavy loss of life and astronomical damage to the country's infrastructurre.
Obama never should have drawn a "red line." That was his mistake. He needs to back off and publicly admit he had misspoken.
We do not belong there. Let them annihilate each other. It is. Not something we should get involved with in any way.
It's odd, through. With the best funded intelligence service in the world, why haven't we gotten more information on the alleged use of chemical weapons in Syria? How long does it take to confirm or deny such weapons are used?
That's probably because they don't exist any more than those Saddam Hussein purportedly had before the obscene 2003 invasion of Iraq. The right-wing media is probably trying to misinform us as usual!
I'm scared to death that we're going to something stupid like jumping into that country's civil war. This is the kind of stupidity that will eventually bring this country down sooner or later!
Don't worry John, we have learned from our mistakes, we are not planning to jump, it is cheaper to train and supply them arms or fund their wars; we just want to eat popcorn and enjoy the show, let Islamic morons kill each others.

The reason people under 50 don't care is because we do not have the police the world mentality that the baby boomers have. If a country half way around the world wants to change their form of government more power to them. They had better make sure what thay are doing before they start the battle because the days of the good'ol USA running to make everything right is over.
