A former federal official who led information sharing efforts between intelligence agencies after September 11 says that system failed ahead of the Boston Marathon terrorist attacks earlier this month.
“We didn’t connect the dots that we had. Few though they might have been, they were serious enough that they should have been connected,” Ambassador Thomas McNamara said Monday on CNN’s “The Lead with Jake Tapper.”

Okay so this giant of intellectual networks says the government failed. This is the same idiot that had information about that horrible day in 2001,yet he ignored it, but he's is the one who the article uses to convey this information to the American public. McNamara, any relative of the other idiot from Viet Nam, perfect. Sometimes stupity skips a generation, look like it didn't happen with the McNamara family. The republicans are just trying to throw enough crap and hoping some of it will stick. 2014 isn't that far away, and after the lack of the republicans ability to get anything done in the house, is going to haunt them.
There seems to be nothing too remember...only hand waving bye the powers-that-be (a few) toward madgical-thinking re-labled as secret-secrets.
What? You think you have heard of everything and remember everything? If I can't think of a single thing I ate for breakfast, it doesn't mean I went hungry...
In the USA we have the right to think of any kind of thought and it not be a crime. It has to become an action for it to be illegal. The man had done nothing yet, the FBI had talked to him, but until they fess up about their plans or have executed illegal actions, what can we do? We have to protect the freedom and human rights and not have the thought police like may exist elsewhere, places I don't want to live and call home.
If it failed exactly what law was not followed? Otherwise, I agree that DHS is a waste of taxpayer money–I cannot think of a single thing that DHS has said in hearings which has actualy helped. Can you?
