How dangerous is North Korea's nuke capability?
A defiant North Korea is threatening both the United States and South Korea in response to the United Nations decision to invoke additional sanctions on Pyongyang for it's rocket launch late last year.
Calling the U.S. a sworn enemy of North Korea, the government of Kim Jong Un vowed to launch more missiles and conduct a nuclear test.
Pentagon correspondent Barbara Starr looks into how dangerous the North's nuclear capability really is.

My concern would be a EMP burst over the continental USA. Not a nuclear blast.
North Korea will not use Nuclear attacking. They built Nuclear explosive to protect their home land. North Korea will launch a first Nuclear Missile unless, within 200 miles of their home borderline from massive invasion such as D-Day. North Korea will attack with their non-nuclear weapons to start. North Korea will not use long range missiles to reach USA unless they success manufacturing with a Thermonuclear for using a long range missiles to USA. Small bomb is too waste money for a longest range intercontinental ballistic. USA is better off to stay home eat cheeseburgers and watch stupid sports.

NK doesn't care about costs! All their rocket parts, technology and nuke materials come from China. NK is China's weapons development site.
China has started to build their military might to protect their need for resources world wide. What would China's "best customers" do if China started testing long range rockets and nukes? China is certainly not stupid, like most Western (democracies) are!!!

Lot of Bad China theories here. Maybe true...maybe not. For one thing the Chinese don't want the NK government to fail simply because they couldn't absorb millions of NK refugees. And secondly , they don't want a western democracy like SK at their southern border: Not yet anyway. So they help prop up the NK government for purely selfish reasons.

Wake up! North Korea is simply the pawn of China's ruling Communist Party! China has the power and control to make NK whatever they want. China is beginning to feel threatened. Their huge economic success is creating a population that wants more freedom, freedom the "Party" is not willing to allow. NK is essential to "preserve the dream" and be used to test Chinese built rockets and weapons.
If you think we are dealing only with NK over these issues, you're dead wrong! Don't forget, Russia is also highly involved with NK.
Don't forgot, North Korea is a part of China's family (sister). Obviously, Chinese Red Army doesn't want to play a chess with western who wants to attack his sister. This is just more evidence that we need to sit down and talk to the North Koreans and forget all this right-wing manure being spewed out in Washington by those fanatics there. This animosity is getting us nowhere. The North Koreans, on the other hand, must agree to have nuclear power but no nuclear weapons at the U.N. South Africa has already worked out a similar deal with them.

North Korea is not the problem, China is! Do you really believe NK can build long range rockets all by themselves? China is using NK as its proving ground and test facilities. Could China start building and testing ICBMs and not endanger their commercial success? Of course not. Recently China has realized it must expand its military to protect their interests world wide, not just a home. The Chinese have started their own saber rattling over Pacific Ocean claims. China's first aircraft carrier is a refitted relec they bought from Russia. Why? If they built their own, it would be much too alarming to their Western customers! When they complete their studies of this weapon, their own shipyards can quickly turn out many more. Politically and economically, they simply cannot risk doing this now. But they will be ready when the time comes. NKs proving and testing ICBMs is a big cover for China. NK has no commercial interests to protect abroad, but China does! And China is beginning to recognize their vulnerability abroad.
Remember, China is still under the foot of their Communist Party. They are becoming increasingly worried as their allowed commercial success cannot continue if they cannot insure and protect their huge demand for resources they don't have.
Please Stan, lose your anti-Chinese paranoia. A case in point, we have military bases all over the world whereas the Chinese have no troops outside of China itself. Moreover, their military spending in no way compares with ours!!!
China is "awakening" and beginning to invest in military might. Of course they don't want to endanger their commercial success. China didn't need to put any "boots on the ground", the US was doing it! GW and Cheney salivated over Iraq's oil, who got it? Not us! Afghanistan's huge copper find was handed over to the Chinese (no news about this since last year). Iran's oil goes where? No, oil exports were never stopped. China extracts resources from Africa and South America, while letting everyone else do the dirty work! Now China is challenging their Pacific Ocean neighbors over fishing rights, even sending military ships to threaten! China has a huge resource problem and are beginning to feel threatened. What China needs, China will get. Soon they will have to fight themselves for these resources, and they know it!
Also keep in mind, China doesn't need to spend like we do on the military. When China needs to put boots on the ground, they can do it quicky and at very little cost. But why bother while we do their dirty work. This may end soon, and this is a concern to the Communists who still rule China!
