Obama's CIA Pick & Movie Torture Controversy
Torture allegations in 2008 derailed CIA director nominee John Brennan from getting the same job four years ago. Now as Brennan prepares for his confirmation hearing the movie Zero Dark Thirty opens nationwide and the issue of "enhanced interrogation" techniques are front and center again. CNN's Chris Lawrence reports on the controversy.

I saw the ZDT last night. It was the most excellent true story motion picture I have ever seen. As for torture, to locate a terrorist like UBL, I believe every avenue must be used. In spite of opposition from CIA about torture not being responsible for finding UBL, it did play a role in convincing terrorist to talk.
Didn't the Geneva Convention already outlaw the torture of POW's long ago? If so, then why are the fools in Washington still acquiescing to if not ordering it outright such as those being carried out at Gitmo? I think everyone needs to abide by the same rules, don't you? Has Barack Obama no decency in him? Evidently not and now they made a movie over it to boot! How sickening!
Good post, Amit. I agree that Barack Obama seems to care very little about what's happening at Gitmo and that makes me sad.
Detainees aren't POWs and are awarded the privilages under the Geneva Convention.
