CIA launches internal investigation into Petraeus conduct

In yet another twist in the aftermath of the resignation of CIA Director David Petraeus last Friday, the CIA is now opening an investigation into his conduct as Director of the spy agency. The investigation will be led by the CIA Inspector General.
"At the CIA we are constantly reviewing our performance. If there are lessons to be learned from this case we'll use them to improve. But we're not getting ahead of ourselves; an investigation is exploratory and doesn't presuppose any particular outcome," said CIA Spokesman Preston Golson.
Petraeus resigned a week ago citing an extramarital affair as the reason for his stepping down. According to friends of Petraeus, he began an affair with his biographer, Paula Broadwell shortly after taking the job as Director of the Agency last fall. Ms. Broadwell has not responded to CNN requests for comment.
The announcement of the internal investigation comes on the eve of closed door testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee. Petraeus is expected to offer his thoughts to the committee members on what the Agency knew and when it knew it in the days after the attack in Benghazi, Libya that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans on September 11.

I guess that you think he killed himself also. Was not any fault of anyone else. He had a job to do and was doing it. Too bad our fearless leader did not send any troops to protect him – even though he was able to watch the fight on a live video feed from the predator drone overflying the site. Seems to me tha the state department, white house, and some others should all be fired for watching and doin nothing. Oc course, Obama was not involved.
We don't have an Army base in Libya to send people running over to the consulate.. Too bad they didn't have enough money for the security they requested.. If the CIA hadn't been torturing people in their illegal prison (again) things MIGHT have not gone there.
The big question no one addresses is:
Why was Stevens in Benghazi at this time? He obviously felt the need the need for additional security but was denied. When additional security was not coming, Stevens remained in Benghazi instead of returning to Tripoli. Who is at fault here? The Benghazi facility is not an embassy and not accorded embassy level security by US military.
It appears that Stevens made a serious error. He put himself, and others in harms way knowing that "the film" was causing serious problems elsewhere and the 9/11 anniversary was approaching! What better opportunity to be attacked! Stevens screwed up, big time and fately. Sorry.
Congress (including Paul Ryan) had already cut off funding for the extra security Stevens was requesting. Now, somehow, it's Obama's fault! Ask Paul Ryan how he feels today!
