Marine discharged for Facebook comments

A Marine who used his Facebook page to criticize President Barack Obama has been discharged, a Marine Corps spokesman said Wednesday.

Sgt. Gary Stein was given an "other-than-honorable" discharge, said Capt. Brian Block, a spokesman for the Marines.

Among other comments posted to his Facebook page, Stein called Obama a liar and suggested he would not follow some orders issued by the president.

An other-than-honorable discharge is given to a Marine who commits a "serious offense" that significantly differs from conduct expected of a Marine, the Corps said.

Brian Posted on I like MacBook computers very much, there are nuoeumrs great features presented by them. I agree with the fact that investing money in developing the CPU in the case of such devices was a very good idea, an idea that was necessary and which enabled them to design products that were considered much more developed than other similar products that had been previously released on the market

Devil dog served his country, followed his orders, supported his comrads in arms, and I am aware of no orders that he refused, and he did so for 10 years! In that same 10 years, he has watched as many of his fellow soldiers were discharged or sent to prison for followng the orders theay were given, more than that, many of those sent to prison were chastized for "not", and I repeat "NOT" speaking out and questioning those very same orders. So, devil dog is stuck between a rock and a hard spot and chose social media to raise the question and make his statement, and whats wrong with that? Easy enough to answer, he did not keep it "IN HOUSE" where the brass could controll and deny it, or cover it up. He chose to leave a trail that a blind prosecuitor could follow, and he is only human, his only mistake was in choosing to serve his country and warning the rest of us that many of our soldiers actually agree with him. Whats really under reported here is that so many of our soldiers agree with him, and so many others are ready and willing to blindly follow orders and commit any act given by there comanders as an order, but whats frightening, is that those who blindly follow orders, shout discipline, unity, and all manor of good words with a twisted, evil, and criminal mindset fosterd by the very government and the officers that theay serve. This creates a military that is nothing short of the defination of NAZI, and even the most fool hardy can read the history books and see what that can and would do to our country and our people as a whole. Sadly, I see so very many of you who advocate just that and I am shure that Hitler, and Stalin would be so very proud of you all!

What a croc of crap. You sound like you have been reading to many war novels. The fact is the Sgt promotion warrant clear states he WILL follow the orders of those appointed over him. No choice. Plus at a different time in the US he would have been shot for treason. He is lucky to be administratively dismissed with an OTH. You talk about Hitler and Stalin well it appears his antics are because of the Presidents skin color and not his stance on war. Did he have a problem with GWB? No? Why, cause it came from a President he can recognize (white). By the way Cathy do you serve? Then shut the hell up. If you do...shut up and follow orders. Period.

You really make it appear so easy together with your presentation but I in finding this topic to be actually one thing that I feel I'd never understand. It sort of feels too complex and extremely large for me. I'm taking a look ahead to your next submit, I'll attempt to get the grasp of it!

I wonder if he thought about Bush lying to get us to war with Iraq to begin with(WMD)? Did he follow orders then?

America truly needs prayer. First i do agree in freedom of speech. Its how we reply to our Government figures that gets us in a bind. We must respect our Commander in chief at all times, regardless of how we feel about them. If you go to court and tell the Judge that he or she are a do57857 bag they will fu58 your world up. The same rule applies. Right now where we stand we are at risk of an attack and we are arguing about our freedom the very same one at risk right now. Let the man finish his term ,God is in charge. Not one leaf moves with out his will. Obama is in office for a reason.
Second of all George W. Bush father and son did not put our country in a debt crisis its been around since Ronald Regan. Those of you who studied economics know what im talking about. Interest rates were sky high in the 80's look it up. Third of all, which is a shocker to me. We have an obligation as a faith based country to defend The State of Israel. Offending them is like offending Christ our Lord. King of the Jews. These are clearly signs of the end of times. Lets love one another look out for each other and vote for leaders that have the best interest in Our children's future. A future of peace and justice, and most importantly freedom of speech.
    Love you America.........

Yes, land of the free, despite the derisive comments suggesting the contrary. When one enlists in the military, however, one accepts certain limitations on liberty and on other rights as part of the contract of enlistment. The United States needs a military that is cohesive, disciplined, etc., and battle-ready. A key provision of the very Constitution that the military swears to uphold and defend provides that the President is the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the United States. He is not a battlefield general, although some have been, but nonetheless he is the pinnacle of the command structure.

When you have military members who, in a time of war, decide to undermine the sitting President and current Commander in Chief of your own branch of the service, this is a serious problem. NO ONE says you have to agree with the President and/or his policies. Your commitment to the armed forces dictates that you shut-up when you do disagree, because those are the rules, pure and simple. The law against sedition was pretty clear about this back in the 18th century – it's nothing new.

What I find interesting is that the criticism leveled at President Obama over his prosecution of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan absolutely fails to acknowledge the simple reality that both of these wars were ongoing concerns when Obama took office. BOTH were entered into – started by – George W Bush in his rush to get attention diverted from 9/11, Saudi Arabia. his family's connections, and the mass exodus of Saudis from the US on 9/12-13 before they could be questioned. Iraq and Saddam Hussein were his first choice – actually chosen BEFORE the 9/11 attack – the Taliban was his second. Neither had any connection to 9/11 at all.

It has been a while since I was in the Navy. I just don't remember being told I could decide what orders I had to follow. I was in when Nixon was President and didn't have that option. Enough said?

Israel needs to be the focus here.

We are facing destruction from Iran, but you still stuff burgers in your fat American faces…

Have you forgotten what happened to us in WW2???

If you Americans withdraw support, I’m quite sure my nation will take you down with us. The Jews are sick of taking shittt.

Read the bible, the Jews are Chosen. You owe us your support.

Gideon,we've been backing Isreal for years and its getting damn old.Their arrogence is beyond belief and for such a small country, who depends on everyone else,,they have a big mouth. They expect,as you do ,to back up their threatening bullshit as a bully backing up the schools wimp. One day Netanyahu will write a check with his mouth that their asses can't cash, and as usual expect BIG UNCLE SAM to come to the rescue,to bail out the wimps of the region. But after awhile the bully gets sick of the little loudmouth piece of shit getting him into scraps, that he doesn't like and beats his ass himself, not caring what the other people in school thinks.Because he's still the bully and he's sick of being reminded that all the time by rescuing the big mouth wimp.So Isreal better quit causing trouble because one day some one like us will forget who we are and kick your little countries ass into the sea,get it.Isreal don't bite the hand that feeds ya..Keep your friends close and your enemies closer,Amend...

i couldnt agree more. What i'm more worried about is Israel writing checks when they know they arent the one who has to cash it. Their statesmen publicly claim that they want to preemptively strike Iran. They are provoking war. And they are provoking a war which the US would be obligated to fight. Essentially Israel is dragging us towards war. I'm sick of that shit. We are the United States of America, we drag ourselves into enough wars as it is, we dont need some little toadie country dragging us into more.

I'm so sick of reading your posts, you might be an islamist who is trying to spread the hate. But if you truely are Israeli, then go fuck yourself. Sure god chose you, god chose you to be the little country in the middle of millions of people who would gladly die to kill one jew. Israel has a great military, very powerful. But one of these days the entire middle east is gonna wipe your asses off the face of the earth and to be honest...........the earth would be a better place.

Devildog broke the rules. It wasn't a secret that there were strict rules for Social Media. Plus, just because you disagree with your Commander in Chief doesn't mean you have to disrespect him.
