Official: Investigators believe U.S. soldier committed Afghan killings in two trips

From CNN Pentagon Correspondent Barbara Starr

Military investigators believe the American soldier accused of killing 17 Afghan civilians earlier this month committed the shootings during two separate trips off his base, a U.S. official confirms to CNN.

“We believe the shooter went to one village, came back and went to a second village,” this official said.

The official, who whould not speak on the record because the investigation is ongoing, said this conclusion was reached based on a number of factors, citing the interviews and the overall investigation.

U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Robert Bales has been charged with 17 counts of murder and could face the death penalty if convicted of any of them.

    A Poem By Darryl Mason

"Kill one man, terrorize a thousand"
the instructor had pointed to the sign
on the wall at the school where I learned to kill
    Camp Pendleton, California
it didn't have a fancy name, this school
    like 'tactical depopulation training'
we called it what it was
    Sniper School
    three months training
    then they sent me here

"Kill one man, terrorize a thousand"
he smiled when he read the sign to me
    my scores were good
he told me he was proud of me
never heard a man say that to me before
I see him now still tapping that sign
to a roomful of kids who are now
    mostly dead
    or wounded

Whether this military crime was commited in two trips or whether in three or more trips that doesn`t alter things.
    The felon must be condemned.

What the media will not tell you is that he was at a foward operating base where the secret Night raids originate from. Now endorsed by Obama and congress hundreds of night raids occur led by the CIA and special forces ,innocent civilians are often killed and the families paid off with small amounts of cash,Karzai gets large amounts of cash for allowing secret and deadly night raids approved by the Obama administration to kill militants who fight against the US military occupation of their country ,folks , how would you feel.millions of Afgans hate US.

yes cnn and others have reported on the forward bases and the night raids , in fact cnn has even televised some of these events , and yes things have gone wrong but in no way does it take away from what this animal did nor does it turn the light off of him to that of a witch hunt , if you have a need for a witch hunt than perhaps you can conduct that by some other means and not on the bodies of these women and children that were the victims of this savage.

and i do not agree with obama either but i will not stoop to a level that i would use this horrific event to propagate a witch hunt or a political post such as you have done.

and this soldier made it off base TWICE without raising eybrows? No patrol sent out to investigate the gunfire the first time? He was captured on the balloncam when he came back and surrendered, but his comings and goings in the wee hours of the morning were not captured? I doubt he was allowed to go for a 2am stroll outside the compound without the CO knowing about it immediately! This "official" story stinks to high heaven of cover-up!

this was reported a couple of days ago , this raises more questions than answers , so just how many times did this animal do this ?? was this his FIRST NIGHT ? what did he come back to the base for , was it ammo or help ?

how was he allowed to go and come so easy from the base or was this often part of what he done so it did not seem out of the norm for the guard , or was the guard paid off , or was his buds covering for him ?? how come the fuel on his clothes was not smelled and picked up by someone ?

so there is more questions than answers here . the only answer the world is looking for is when will he meet justice that will result in his death?
