CNN Poll: Most Americans see no U.S. obligation in Syria

Nearly three-quarters of Americans believe the United States does not have a responsibility to do something about the fighting in Syria between government forces and anti-government groups, according to a new national survey.

In a CNN/ORC/International poll released Tuesday, 73% of Americans said the U.S. has no obligation to respond to the ongoing unrest, while 25% agreed with the notion. Two percent had no opinion.

It doesn't matter how many Americans do, or do not, feel the U.S. has a "responsibility" to take
some kind of active (military?) role in resolving the Syrian debacle that is occurring. It's a civil
war. The U.S. can proclaim its preference (the defeat of Assad) and we can encourage
other nations to agree, but the U.S. (and Russia/China) should do nothing there unless called
upon by the Arab League AND the U.N. to do so.

So we don't "move" until the Arab League or U.N. tell us to "move"? Why exactly are either of these organizations qualified or have the authority to dictate to the U.S. what we should and should not do? A nation's interests and the judgment of their leaders are not to be dictated by other nations...period. Consulted perhaps, but not driven. You make the U.S. military sound like they'er just a "tool" of these organizations.

Obviously, we have enough problems at home to deal with. The days of America protecting non-americans is over. Handle your own problems and don't count on the U.S. to save you from yourselves.

As has been proven over and over in history, the IDF is good enough to hand the surrounding Arab countries (independently or as a group) and "organizations" their butt...time to lump in these countries into your "characterization" as well...
