Pakistan still sharing intel with U.S.

By Jamie Crawford

The U.S. and Pakistan continue to share intelligence despite the "fraught" relationship, the head of the Central Intelligence Agency told a Senate committee on Tuesday.

CIA Director David Petraeus called the relationship “strained” and “fraught,” and will take more diplomacy and engagement to move forward during testimony to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.

Petraues noted that the intelligence sharing between the two countries is still strong, and information between the two countries is still “going back and forth.”

The Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, noted the relationship with Pakistan is a "challenging relationship but an important one," saying the interests of the two countries are "not always congruent."

Pakistan and the U.S. are at a stand still in relations. After a firefight at a border post killed two dozen Pakistani troops, cooperation has been frozen.  The U.S. only recently restarted drone strikes but key border crossings for moving NATO supplies into Afghanistan remain shut by the Pakistanis.

Petraeus also assessed that the internal strife over what has become known as "memogate," could be easing, telling that committee that the former ambassador to the U.S., Hussain Haqqani, who resigned amid alleged links to a secret plot to cut back the powers of Pakistan's military leaders, was allowed to leave Pakistan and has flown to the United Arab Emirates.

Isn't it funny that it's the liberal initstutions that indoctrinate when young adults reach college, but its a personal relationship with Jesus when you stick your 4-year olds in Sunday School.Give me a break. Nobody here is ignorant enough to buy into your faulty logic. Even Billybones, who frequently gets butthurt over wasteful spending, will tell you that in most cases it's additional oversite and reviews of spending that are required to fix social programs, not slashing the funding. Talk about indoctrinated. You're so full of Rush Limbaugh's Kool-aid you can't even argue, all you can do is throw out sweeping generalizations. HURRRR liberals HURRRR. I agree with you though on one thing. I wish we could give you back all your taxes so you can send your kids to a parochial school. I can't think of a more worthwhile investment in my own kids future in the global economy.
