US: Al Qaeda in Pakistan could be gone in two years

By Sr. National Security Producer Pam Benson

Al Qaeda's ability to carry out operations from its Pakistan base could be eliminated within the next two years, according to Michael Vickers, the U.S. undersecretary of defense for intelligence.

Vickers told a conference at the National Defense University this week that, "Assuming sustained CT (counterterrorism) operations against the group, within 18 to 24 months, core al Qaeda cohesion and operational capabilities could be degraded to the point that the group could fragment and exist mostly as a propaganda arm and power could devolve to regional affiliates."

(See also Security Clearance's look at the effort to find the world's most dangerous terrorists)

This marks the first time a senior U.S. official has put a time frame on the end of the threat of attack posed by al Qaeda's senior leadership operating in the ungoverned areas of Pakistan.

On his first trip to Afghanistan as defense secretary in July, Leon Panetta told reporters that the United States was "within reach of strategically defeating al Qaeda." He said the successful operation to take out Osama bin Laden and the identification of other key al Qaeda leaders put the United States in a better position.

"If we can be successful at going after them, I think we can really undermine their ability to do any kind of planning, to be able to conduct any kind of attack" on the United States. "That's why I think it's within reach. Is it going to take some more work? You bet it is. But I think it's within reach," Panetta said.

In his speech on Tuesday, Vickers said al Qaeda's leaders "are being eliminated at a far faster rate than al Qaeda can replace them," and noted the replacements "are much less experienced and credible."

He said eight of al Qaeda's 20 key leaders have been eliminated this year, citing the killing of Osama bin Laden in May, the death of al Qaeda second-in-command Atiya Abdul Rahman in August, and the capture of Younis Mauritani, a senior planner of operations, earlier this month.

Only al Qaeda's current leader, Ayman al-Zawahiri, remains active among those who were the top nine terrorists at the time of the 9/11 attacks against the United States in 2001.

But Vickers did note al Qaeda is resilient and remains a dangerous threat to the United States.

"It maintains a worldwide strength numbering in the low thousands, it has broadened its reach through affiliate organizations" in general, but in particular he mentioned al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, which he said has been able to increase its operating space in Yemen.

Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula has been linked to the attempt to blow up an airliner over Detroit in December 2009 and a cargo plane plot last year.

Defense officials told Pentagon reporters on Wednesday that the United States sees "cross-pollenization between AQ affiliates." The two officials, who would only speak to reporters on the condition their identities not be used, cited a recent attack by Boko Haram, a militant group based in Nigeria.

The official said, "When you see a group like Boko Haram, which is focused internally, use a car bomb the way they did, it's a capability they clearly got from AQIM (Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb)." But a senior defense official said of the idea of al Qaeda affiliates banding together, "You aren't going to see some Legion of Doom. It's an opportunity for an alliance of convenience."

Although Vickers predicted al Qaeda's core might be marginalized within 18 to 24 months, he said it might take longer to sufficiently disrupt the affiliates. "We likewise may not be done with the operational dismantlement of all of the group's regional affiliates within the next two years."

When asked to expand on Vickers' comments, Pentagon press secretary George Little said Wednesday, "I think what Mr. Vickers said tracks with what we've said repeatedly in recent months, and that is that al Qaeda in Pakistan has suffered a number of losses, their senior leadership has been thinned out to say the least, and it's important to keep the pressure up on the group." Little added, "We're not saying al Qaeda is down and out for good."

The two defense officials said they see al Qaeda's core's capability being degraded over the next 18 to 24 months, and they expect to continue to see regional affiliates assume a larger role. But a senior Defense official said, "There is an element of defeating a network that is separate from its ideological component. In other words, you can get them to be incapable, but it doesn't eliminate the idea of al Qaeda." The two officials said the degradation of the core al Qaeda will affect its affiliates going forward, in terms of their willingness and ability to plan attacks abroad. "In each splinter group or regional affiliate you have external and internal actors in leadership. The strength of the core to hold it all together is challenged."

Other members of the intelligence community were a bit skittish about putting a time frame on al Qaeda's core's demise. A U.S. counterterrorism official said the United States is "not putting a calendar on the wall," but Vickers' time frame is a "point to measure from." Another official said some intelligence agencies are "more cautious with their assessments" and less inclined to set time frames.

At a congressional hearing on Tuesday, new CIA Director David Petraeus said the "heavy losses to al Qaeda senior leadership appear to have created an important window of vulnerability for the core al Qaeda in Pakistan and Afghanistan," and the United States will need a "sustained focused effort" to exploit the opportunity.

Petraeus also called bin Laden's long-time deputy and successor, al-Zawahiri, a "less compelling" leader who will have more difficulty than bin Laden "in maintaining the group's cohesion and its collective motivation in the face of continued pressure."

A news report citing a Pakistani intelligence official as indicating al-Zawahiri has fled Pakistan and is in Yemen or Somalia was discounted by U.S. officials. Pentagon spokesman Little said he had "no information to indicate that Zawahiri is anywhere other than in Pakistan," a view shared by other intelligence officials contacted by CNN.

– CNN Pentagon Correspondent Chris Lawrence contributed to this report.

The very crux of your writing while appearing reasonable initially, did not really settle well with me after some time. Somewhere throughout the sentences you actually managed to make me a believer but just for a while. I however have got a problem with your jumps in logic and you would do nicely to help fill in all those breaks. In the event you actually can accomplish that, I will certainly be fascinated.

    Divorce causes major issues with health insurance benefits. Many families have employer provided and/or paid for health insurance benefits that cover the entire family. It is not uncommon to see situations where the other spouse is a stay at home parent, with absolutely no access to health insurance benefits, or employed at a job with either no health insurance benefits available or those benefits available at a substantial cost. After a divorce, the spouse with the family health insurance coverage can no longer cover the other parent. They are no longer “family” members who can take advantage of one health insurance policy. How to then ensure that everyone stays insured does become an issue for negotiation and/or divorce litigation.^;

    With kind thoughts

It is not right to condemn all Muslims. All this is doing is nudging the Muslim followers who may be borderline terrorists to get mad and take on terrorism fully. We don't condemn all Mormons because of Warren Jeffs (Jeffrey???). That is the reason there are a lot of gangs that are black, they are tired of being opressed. We ust be tolerant and get theri confidence that we are not after all people who look like Muslims.

    @Chris
I don't go for any religion either but as an atheist I do feel I have a right to denigrate other people's faiths just as much as I have a right to denigrate people smoking cigarette's if I can be exposed to their second hand smoke. Especially after 911 its extremely disturbing how potentially still billions of people still cling to "faith" after how much pain and suffering it only causes. If children were exposed to atheist thought along with all the other choices of bullsh*t religions there are they'd overwhelming reject catholocism, judaism or islam. There's just too much money wrapped up in religion to get rid of it. Does any of what I just wrote make any sense to you people? No matter what argument you make the childhood exposure to religion vs atheism is undeniable and wins...............................always! Religion is the problem and it always has been.

There is one point you are wrong about – you do not have the right to speak ill of other people's belief system simply because you do not have one of your own. You do have the right to not adopt a faith system, you do not have the right to tell others that they are wrong for their feeling. And you cannot just give yourself rights – they have to be earned. Since your post makes no sense, you have not earned the right to spew your hatred. Or do you really believe that your little rant is actually going to change a faith believers mind? Really – who's got the bigger ego now?

Religion is not the problem and religion did not cause the murder of thousands of innocent people. man and his hatred for others caused this pure and simple and man causes the problem every time. Granted, some do these terrible things in the name of God and their religion but they have a skewered view of what God and faith is all about. I happen to believe lack of faith causes even more problems. Are you telling me atheists never commit crimes, fight? I hope you will reconsider your view of Christians and and other religious people.

Congratulations. Your irrational rant contains just about every major Fallacy of Reasoning in the book of ancient and modern epistemology and logic. Your arguments are bursting with feeling (emotions) vs. evidence, atheist custom and tradition (atheist group think) vs. objective data, fallacy of irrelevant evidence, argumentum ad ignorantiam, fallacy of accident, argumentum as hominem, false cause (post hoc), fallacy of composition, fallacy of division, and dicto simpliciter, converse fallacy of accident, genetic error, et cetera. What a fine effort of pure fallacy!

Obama has succeeded where Bush failed: He has taken the momentum away from the terrorists and is defeating them. As late as last year, the United States felt demoralized and ridiculed by its failure to eliminate Bin Laden and break the spirit of Al Qaeda, while our military bled. It appears that that has changed. In the end the massive conventional wars in Afghanistan and Iraq might have made people feel good at first, but ultimately the terrorists were taken down by CIA intelligence, Special Forces and unmanned predator drones.

It's almost election time so the specified timing by the administration is critical to the reelection bid of Obama. It's convenient that the election is in 14 months and they will be eliminated in 18-24 months.

They can continue on this line well past the election with no proof of the group going away and make a lot of points with the voting base.

Did you know that in 18-24 months, Syria will be a Democratic society, NYC will host the World Conference to establish a Unified World Government and appoint Obama as Commisar, and California will be an independent island with no political ties to the US!!

Muslims have to realize that their religion is false. The only true religion is Judaism. When the Lord chose Jews to be HIS only true followers, it was written that all others believe in false gods. For example, Hindus believing in imaginary gods (monkeys, elephants) is somewhat silly. Muslims believing in a moon god is silly. Christians believing that Jesus (probably a good teacher and Jewish rabbi) was the Son of God/ or God Himself is silly. The New Testatment is flawed and highly corrupted by the early Christians (mostly Catholics because the Popes had access to alter the teachings of Jesus). I love my eligion, and know that only Judaism has all the answers.

I'm not going to sit here and criticize any religion and I don't think anyone here has the credibility to do that. You have to first understand what something is before you start criticizing it...any idiot can take things out of context and say our military generals advocate violence everyday when they are training our troops to kill, or the QURAN says after they've broken the peace treaty and declared war on you, kill the polytheists. In both cases, these are instructions for war.

        Or the BIBLE says....

Kill People Who Don't Listen to Priests

Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel. (Deuteronomy 17:12 NLT)

        Kill Witches

You should not let a sorceress live. (Exodus 22:17 NAB)

        Kill Homosexuals
"If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives." (Leviticus 20:13 NAB)

        Kill Fortunetellers

A man or a woman who acts as a medium or fortuneteller shall be put to death by stoning; they have no one but themselves to blame for their death. (Leviticus 20:27 NAB)

        Death for Hitting Dad

Whoever strikes his father or mother shall be put to death. (Exodus 21:15 NAB)

        Death for Cursing Parents

        1) If one curses his father or mother, his lamp will go out at the coming of darkness. (Proverbs 20:20 NAB)

        2) All who curse their father or mother must be put to death. They are guilty of a capital offense. (Leviticus 20:9 NLT)

        Death for Adultery

If a man commits adultery with another man's wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death. (Leviticus 20:10 NLT)

        Death for Fornication

A priest's daughter who loses her honor by committing fornication and thereby dishonors her father also, shall be burned to death. (Leviticus 21:9 NAB)

Death to Followers of Other Religions

Whoever sacrifices to any god, except the Lord alone, shall be doomed. (Exodus 22:19 NAB)

        Kill Nonbelievers

They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)

        Kill False Prophets

If a man still prophesies, his parents, father and mother, shall say to him, "You shall not live, because you have spoken a lie in the name of the Lord." When he prophesies, his parents, father and mother, shall thrust him through. (Zechariah 13:3 NAB)

Kill the Entire Town if One Person Worships Another God

Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors. "The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him." (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT)

Kill Women Who Are Not Virgins On Their Wedding Night

But if this charge is true (that she wasn't a virgin on her wedding night), and evidence of the girls virginity is not found, they shall bring the girl to the entrance of her fathers house and there her townsman shall stone her to death, because she committed a crime against Israel by her unchasteness in her father's house. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst. (Deuteronomy 22:20-21 NAB)

        Kill Followers of Other Religions.

        1) If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him. Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you. You shall stone him to death, because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. And all Israel, hearing of this, shall fear and never do such evil as this in your midst. (Deuteronomy 13:7-12 NAB)

        2) Suppose a man or woman among you, in one of your towns that the LORD your God is giving you, has done evil in the sight of the LORD your God and has violated the covenant by serving other gods or by worshiping the sun, the moon, or any of the forces of heaven, which I have strictly forbidden. When you hear about it, investigate the matter thoroughly. If it is true that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, then that man or woman must be taken to the gates of the town and stoned to death. (Deuteronomy 17:2-5 NLT)

        Death for Blasphemy

One day a man who had an Israelite mother and an Egyptian father got into a fight with one of the Israelite men. During the fight, this son of an Israelite woman blasphemed the LORD's name. So the man was brought to Moses for judgment. His mother's name was Shelomith. She was the daughter of Dibri of the tribe of Dan. They put the man in custody until the LORD's will in the matter should become clear. Then the LORD said to Moses, "Take the blasphemer outside the camp, and tell all those who heard him to lay their hands on his head. Then let the entire community stone him to death. Say to the people of Israel: Those who blaspheme God will suffer the consequences of their guilt and be punished. Anyone who blasphemes the LORD's name must be stoned to death by the whole community of Israel. Any Israelite or foreigner among you who blasphemes the LORD's name will surely die. (Leviticus 24:10-16 NLT)

        Kill False Prophets

        1) Suppose there are prophets among you, or those who have dreams about the future, and they promise you signs or miracles, and the predicted signs or miracles take place. If the prophets then say, 'Come, let us worship the gods of foreign nations,' do not listen to them. The LORD your God is testing you to see if you love him with all your heart and soul. Serve only the LORD your God and fear him alone. Obey his commands, listen to his voice, and cling to him. The false prophets or dreamers who try to lead you astray must be put to death, for they encourage rebellion against the LORD your God, who brought you out of slavery in the land of Egypt. Since they try to keep you from following the LORD your God, you must execute them to remove the evil from among you. (Deuteronomy 13:1-5 NLT)

        2) But any prophet who claims to give a message from another god or who falsely claims to speak for me must die.' You may wonder, 'How will we know whether the prophecy is from the LORD or not?' If the prophet predicts something in the LORD's name and it does not happen, the LORD did not give the message. That prophet has spoken on his own and need not be feared. (Deuteronomy 18:20-22 NLT)

        Infidels and Gays Should Die

So God let them go ahead and do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other's bodies. Instead of believing what they knew was the truth about God, they deliberately chose to believe lies. So they worshiped the things God made but not the Creator himself, who is to be praised forever. Amen. That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relationships with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men and, as a result, suffered within themselves the penalty they so richly deserved. When they refused to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their evil minds and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, fighting, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They are forever inventing new ways of sinning and are disobedient to their parents. They refuse to understand, break their promises, and are heartless and unforgiving. They are fully aware of God's death penalty for those who do these things, yet they go right ahead and do them anyway. And, worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too. (Romans 1:24-32 NLT)

Kill Anyone who Approaches the Tabernacle

For the LORD had said to Moses, 'Exempt the tribe of Levi from the census; do not include them when you count the rest of the Israelites. You must put the Levites in charge of the Tabernacle of the Covenant, along with its furnishings and equipment. They must carry the Tabernacle and its equipment as you travel, and they must care for it and camp around it. Whenever the Tabernacle is moved, the Levites will take it down and set it up again. Anyone else who goes too near the Tabernacle will be executed.' (Numbers 1:48-51 NLT)

Kill People for Working on the Sabbath

The LORD then gave these further instructions to Moses: 'Tell the people of Israel to keep my Sabbath day, for the Sabbath is a sign of the covenant between me and you forever. It helps you to remember that I am the LORD, who makes you holy. Yes, keep the Sabbath day, for it is holy. Anyone who desecrates it must die; anyone who works on that day will be cut off from the community. Work six days only, but the seventh day must be a day of total rest. I repeat: Because the LORD considers it a holy day, anyone who works on the Sabbath must be put to death.' (Exodus 31:12-15 NLT)

Jason, Christians also beleive the old testament is true, we also beleive that the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob is the one true God. Judaism also promises a Messiah, have you considered that Jesus might have been the lamb of God in his first coming.

jmat... While the Christians believe in the Torah (Old Testament), they also falsely believe in Jesus as the Messiah. Most likely, Jesus did not even exist. If he did exist, Jesus was so irrelevant that no historian at the time wrote about him. Even the great Jewish historian, Josephus, mentioned hearing about stories of Jesus, but most of his writings were altered by Christians (so a total hoax). The biggest proof are the Dead Sea Scrolls. If Jesus existed or was relevant, the Jewish scribes/ historians would have mentioned Jesus. At least, mentioned that a Jewish rabbi has lost his marbles and claims to be the Son of God/ God Himself. If Jesus was giving sermons, and thousands would appear to hear him speak, you would think that someone would mention that such an event occured. Also, who was there to see Jesus raise a dead person? Silly story... Were Mark, Luke, Matthew, John eye witnesses? No... It's like the Hindus who believe that Sai Baba (just died this year) was the seventh reincarnation of Lord Shiva. Millions of people believe this including Indian prime ministers, scientists, educated... Books have been written about his miracles. However, to a Jew, it is clear that this man was a fraud, but the Hindus say, "It must be true because I have got a book like the New Testament that sauys it's true." Only the Torah is the Word of God. All others are false.

You need to read your Koran and try to better understand the message. There are multiple websites which can clearly help you understand that Islam means submission to the Moon God. Islam is not an off-shoot of Judaism, and we do not believe in the same god. Islam is derived from pagan practices, and worshipping of the moon. Thus, all flags and mosques have the moon. In modern times, Muslim clerics realized that this might seem silly, so they syarted to say that the Moon God and the God of abraham are the same. Not true.

        September 15, 2011 at 11:09 am |
      • @JasonKent

        educate urself foo...

The early Muslim community did not really have a symbol. During the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Islamic armies and caravans flew simple solid-colored flags (generally black, green, or white) for identification purposes. In later generations, the Muslim leaders continued to use a simple black, white, or green flag with no markings, writing, or symbolism on it.

It wasn't until the Ottoman Empire that the crescent moon and star became affiliated with the Muslim world. When the Turks conquered Constantinople (Istanbul) in 1453, they adopted the city's existing flag and symbol. Legend holds that the founder of the Ottoman Empire, Osman, had a dream in which the crescent moon stretched from one end of the earth to the other. Taking this as a good omen, he chose to keep the crescent and make it the symbol of his dynasty. There is speculation that the five points on the star represent the five pillars of Islam, but this is pure conjecture. The five points were not standard on the Ottoman flags, and as you will see on the following page, it is still not standard on flags used in the Muslim world today.

For hundreds of years, the Ottoman Empire ruled over the Muslim world. After centuries of battle with Christian Europe, it is understandable how the symbols of this empire became linked in people's minds with the faith of Islam as a whole.

Based on this history, many Muslims reject using the crescent moon as a symbol of Islam. The faith of Islam has historically had no symbol, and many refuse to accept what is essentially an ancient pagan icon. It is certainly not in uniform use among Muslims.

I wonder how much of Al Qaeda's agenda is driven by economic motives (i.e., money), how much is driven by the desire of males to cling to power (i.e., male supremacy and power and control over women), and how much is just driven by resistance to change.

I recently read Matthieu Aikins’s shocking article in Harper’s Magazine (Dec., 2009), about the multi-billion dollar opium trade in Afghanistan and Pakistan, and how the governments and militaries of these two countries tolerate, condone, assist, protect, and work for and with the opium traffickers.

Money, after all, is the root of all kinds of evil.

Unfortunately at this time the WH is consumed by the 2012 election and is too afraid of public opinion to focus on the threat in Yemen. Yemen will soon become what Pakistan is now. Yemen is a tribe based society, has around 50% illiteracy rate, rapidly dwindling resources (including water, natural gas, minerals etc.), rampant unemployment, and AQAP gaining footholds in major cities rather quickly without much opposition from the current government (they are too busy trying to deal with the protests).

So where is Al Quada moving their operations?

Or are they just going to become a difuse (non-centralized) operation?

I would expect them to take on a more command & control type role (the difused, non-centralized type you mentioned) for a few reasons: First, it's harder to target something or someone who is on the move. Second, with the numerous AQ supporting branches (AQAP, AQIM, AQI, Al-Shabab, etc.) AQ can be hosted in several different areas where the US and it's allies cannot readily get to them quickly. Third, as with the Taliban, AQ can continue to just provide motivation, training, guidance, etc. to the previously mentioned groups from anywhere. AQ is a smart organization unfortunately and they will adapt to our current methods. This is purely my opinion though.

He was a guy who went into a cave and talked to an angel. Easy to believe. I just wonder why that stuff doesn't happen any more. Now grown men bow down like slaves three times a day. That also makes a lot of sense.

So you were there? Are only parts of the Koran accurate and "Truthy"? And finally, since Mohammed, the most perfect man whose behavior is to be copied by every pious Muslim, never killed why do so many Muslims kill and are OK with killing? Are these killing Muslims blasphemers or would that be you? Its documented he married a child and consummated that union when she was 9, now, its false? Hmmmmmmmmm, something stinks here and its coming from your mouth Syed, you fool.

These so called muslims are doing the exact opposite of His teachings. After Muslims won Mecca, Mohammad let all other non muslims to follow and practice their religion peacefully. It is documented. I am a shia muslims and our scholers believe Ayesha was around 18 the time they were married. You tools should grow up and get educated. something interesting to read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_100

Brother Syed don't worry much about what they say, what do you expect from people who legalize sex before the age of 18 and forbid marriage before this age. 90% of american girls loose their virginity before the age 18, so basically 90% loose their virginity before marriage. so take it easy Syed.

You are right. But what if someone really his ignorant? Maybe they have been fed lies and with some correct facts their eyes will open and they would seek the truth. I know there are a lot of ignorant confused fanatic muslims but most of them were brainwashed from the beginning and had no access to the real knowledge and education. This shouldn't be the excuse for people living in the West

There is no limit to when muslims may engage in sex and the age disparity doesn't matter either apparently. That is why why most muslims are widely considered pediphiles. Let's not forget the never ending degradation of islamic women of all ages. Islam the religion of cowards!!

"90% lose their virginity.." Oh those dirty dirty girls!

What's the problem here? As a result, we don't have a society of people with sexual frustration looking to blow people up just so they can have 72 virgins to bang.

You might want to consider there are better ways to live.

You religious folks, Muslim or otherwise, do not believe in facts. The fact is if you took the time to think for yourselves you would have to come to the conclusion that you religion is based on stories from men. Does the creator of the universe like to play games with its minion? Why would it not just talk to us all through some truly magical media rather than talking to only people from the mideast? Killing and dying for some idea that children have to be indoctrinated to believe is a horrible way to live. Librerate your minds, please.

It is true. We do not jail and punish girls for having sex before marriage... Though we punish, greatly,, any adult male who has sex with a girl under 16. We have a reason for this. We are not interested in punishing young people for their mistakes in life... However adult men should know better than to take advantage of the very young. That is why we are appalled at things like acid throwing.. and honor rape & killing. To us these are the lowest and most barbaric of crimes.
The idea of a grown adult man not having the intelligence and patience to raise and love their daughters simply because they experimented with sex before marriage is bizarre to us.

As you see brother Syed, you are trying to educate people who still believe it is ok if some one come to bang their sister in their house, but in one condition, he should be a teen, if he is an adult that is a crime, if he is teen it is ok, not sure if they think the teen has a smaller peni*s or what,,,,, and they will give you a thousand execuse of dirty things they do days and nights instead of confessing that their social life is screwed up, and divorce rate 50%, and there are millions if sinlge moms, and there are 20 million on drugs,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, again take it easy, I hope those who hate our prophet peace be upon him to keep hating him till they die, and you know what is going to happen to them in front of allah.

        @Biggerdawg.

"Wondering Aloud" is a weasel tactic to deflect blowback from the awful stuff you said. Anyone with any shred of credibility will simply say what they mean. The idea that "I'm just saying..." absolves you of your leading question is fakery. Glenn Beck does this all the time and it's why he's a clown. If you say "I wonder if BiggerDawg is a cross dresser?" you are saying "There is some evidence that BiggerDawg may be a cross dresser."

In other words, own your thoughts and your words. You think Obama is a terrorist? Say that. Say that so we can recognize you as a wack job and move on. The first amendment lets you say whatever you want, but it also lets me call you out on it.

It is all in the eyes of the beholder. Most Americans would say terrorist, unfortunately the tea party would say patriot

I'm not a huge fan of the tea party, however, I have never heard any of them praising Timothy McVeigh as a patriot....it's time to stop all of this casting the other side as insane stuff.....

The Tea Party... They haven't said that. I've no idea what's in their minds, but they are at least respectful enough to not say that.

The Michigan Militia and other folks with "The Turner Diaries" in hardback on their shelves? Yeah they think McVay (sp?) was a patriot. That group does exist and we should be wary of them.
