Kerry: Israel is safer under new deal

By CNN's Ashley Killough

Secretary of State John Kerry insisted Sunday that the interim agreement to halt Iran’s nuclear program makes Israel safer – though Israel says the agreement has exactly the opposite effect.

“We believe very strongly that because the Iranian nuclear program is actually set backwards and is actually locked into place in critical places, that that is better for Israel than if you were just continuing to go down the road and they rush towards a nuclear weapon,” Kerry said in an interview that aired Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” – just hours after world powers and Iran reached the historic agreement.

Kerry cautioned that strong verification tactics will be needed in order to hold Iran accountable to the deal.

“When you're dealing with nuclear weapons, it's not an issue of trust,” Kerry said. “Verification is the key.”

Its called the oldest game in the book Mr. Secretary, a wolf in sheep's skin! Your getting played Mr. Secretary, just like Hitler played Chamberlain back in the 1930's. Do us all a favor Mr Secretary and take a second look at what will transpire if you agree to Iran's fraudulence. I mean for God's sake man Iran certainly didn't have a hard time bringing this country to our knees with a couple of hostages in the 70's, so imagine what they could do with materials to make a nuclear bomb. Dwell upon this Mr Secretary, “The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.” Sun Tzu, The Art of War.

Our country was being played by Nothinugh for years. It's time for us to act in the interest of our country and the world and not continue to be patsy for the terrorist government in the ME. Great job Mr. Kerry. Enough is Enough!

There is nothing to see here. Go back to your homes and offices. Israel is as safe as a Britney Spears on a cruise in Beirut Bay.

"Israel is safer"? Rubbish. The sole reason for centrifuges is the production of weapons' grade uranium. Unless I missed it, Iran did not agree to destroy this capability nor did it negate its long standing promise to eliminate Israel. Tell me again how Israel is safer, Herr Kerry?

Let's talk about all of Israel's neighbors calling for its destruction-as Iran has done almost weekly

Israel doesn't scream about destroying other nations and groups of people. Iran does. Context please.

Well, let's talk about Israel's nuclear weapons if you wish, Fredd... If the Arab states and Iran were convinced that Israel DID NOT have nuclear weapons they would try to destroy the Jewish State again (as they've done in 1948, 1967 and 1973). The resulting war would bring tens of thousands or even millions of (mostly Muslim) casualties meaning that Israeli nukes same a lot of Muslim lives

Netanyahu must be going out of his mind! His only goal is, and has been, to get the US to bomb Iran for his benefit! Sorry Netanyahu, we are not following your "plan". Obama is not Bush. Bush would have been pleased to do your dirty work. Bush is living the good life on his ranch now and could care less about Israel anymore!
Oh, how are your "talks" going with the Palestinians? Going to send in your bull dozers again "to put more pressure on"? Hasn't worked before and never will! Why not make a serious effort towards peace?

you must understand that we will make it very difficult now for Obama because he has slighted Israel. USA must behave in an obedient way to what is required and demanded of Israel. We will show Obama now who runs the US!! He will regret this decision to go against our wishes and do something in the interests of the US instead of us!!

Your are an example of why this decision by the US is a failure. You are not Israeli but a anti-semitic hack who is lying. As are the Iranians. You feel it is ok to lie to and about your enemy.

My God, Ashley. You're hailing this as a good thing!.....? That's pathetic. Obama admin surrenders again.

Who surrendered what? All I see is that Netanyahu has to give up his plan to entice the US to bomb Iran for his benefit! By the way, how is Netanyahu doing with his "talks" with Palestine? His idea of peace is totally out of this world. GWB bombed Iraq (to create peace and harmony), his "mission accomplished" was a huge failure. He bombed Iraq into becoming best friends with Iran! Dick Cheney never got a drop of the Iraqi oil that he promised would pay for this fiasco! After all this, Netanyahu still believes the US should bomb ran???

Ive posted a few times exactly what I believe Iran is doing. None of those posts made it past the censor. But I know our people understand the tactic.
Listening to the language used, Kerry is aware of it.
One of two things is happening now, and only time can tell.
I sure hope you guys know what you are doing. I see two ways this doesnt set us up for nuclear war down the road, one is that iran is being honest, (not a bet i would take) . The other is that you see what i do and did all of this with that in mind.

Who here actually believed Iran ever intended to build their own bomb?

        Netanyahu, Netanyahu, Netanyahu! Who else?
By the way, Iran does not have to build their own nuclear bomb. They can simply order one or ten from Pakistan or China! Iran can have nukes within a week.
Israel has nukes, all courtesy of the USA! They did not have to build any themselves. Yet Israel will not disclose what they have.
