Top nuclear missile commanders fired

It was on its face disturbing, even shocking news – two military officials in charge of the nation's nuclear arsenal sacked within days of each other.

But Major General Michael Carey and Vice Admiral Tim Giardina (fired amidst rumors of misbehavior involving alcohol and gambling) are just the latest in a recent rash of firings in the military's top ranks.

The firings come as leadership in the military try to send a message of "zero tolerance" when it comes to bad behavior.

The military has been here before – last fall a string of incidents involving improper behavior among top brass resulted in then Defense Secretary Leon Panetta ordering a review of ethics standards.

Officials tell CNN that in the case of the nuclear commander fired Friday that no sensitive nuclear weapons operations were impacted.

I could NOT disagree with you more. As a retired officer we must be held to a high standard.
Civilians never understand the discipline to be a senior officer.

Imagine growing up, studying hard in school. Devoting your entire life to only helping your country and fellow man. You choose to enlist to have better opportunities for education. You are the perfect soldier. Hundreds die around you but you walk on, untouched or at least reforged anew repeatedly. Nothing can make you feel except yourself. You have spent your entire life up to this moment just for the chance of being here. I think that's something along the lines of the discipline of a senior officer. Otherwise anyone would be in that position. I think some of the educated have a decent grasp on sympathy dude.

As just a Lt. Col, I would have been put under Leavenworth for just half of what that stupid Air Farce General did. That was the most blatant "conduct unbecoming of an officer I had heard of. Officers are held to a much higher standard. It and being responsible for anything that happens under your watch are where the extra pay comes from. I was enlisted and we could get away with anything. But a two star General drunk and disorderly never flies, no offense to the Air Force folks, but you guys tolerate too MUCH.

Yep, you can sure tell a community organizer is the commander and chief. These people are tasked with the possibility of bringing total destruction. They have to be able to blow off stem somehow, a community organizer would not understand that.

Why is that particularly interesting? Are you implying that there is some sort of conspiracy? Your post and your wording suggest you are possibly a bigoted, conspiracy junkie. What other fantasies would you like to spout? That the US government was responsible for Sept 11? That we never landed on the moon in the 1960s? Sadly you appear to be a mal-informed, mal-adjusted troll. Please take your medication and lie down. The adults in the room grow tired of your presence.

Reality needs a reality check. If it wasn't for Putin America would be in another war so oil can be purchased with the american dollar.Wake up America! Your government is so corrupt and just puppets for the big picture.Your so brainwashed its sickening .So many unanswered questions about 911.How did building 7 crumble down so fast from a small fire?It seems like you have all the answers. Also do some research on who owns the American media.I like Americans and Jews, but come on now.America is bankrupt just like Detroit.

Funny you should put it that way as it was because of certain racist bigoted people!
Masonic Zionists, to be specific; one can trace Zionist TREASON back to the 8th century when they helped the Muslims take over the Spanish Christian King.

Had they not had their Zionist internal TRAITORs they would have failed!
One needs to research Judaism as this is an ongoing business model for certain Jews; a minority.

        References:
1)Jews as Ally of the Muslims:Medieval Roots of AntiSemitism
This is why they got the Spanish BOOT in 1492 according to Jewish lib of congress.
2)Slaughterhouse of Osiris/Under the Sign of the Scorpion
Tells this same internal COUP/TREASON model used in France, Russia and
China! And now America, IF it sticks! "All the Evidence in the World Israel Did 9/11" and 7/7

        Go back to your TV!

When all else fails, the first rule to an argument is to call someone a bigot and a racist. With either of those words, you have effectively nullifed any possible point you were trying to make.

Our zero tolerance policies should be against mishaps regarding our stockpile. I personally would rather have a bunch of guys who have a relatively clean record at what counts that blow off steam like any normal person in their off time as long as it never impacts their jobs. Simply put we risk more injuring our command with new hires whose motivation and loyalties are in question more than the guy who went to vegas. The only way to attack us is to sabotage that command before hand. Which mass firing and replacing effectively does.
