U.S. forces take part in 2 Africa raids targeting alleged terrorists

By Barbara Starr and Evan Perez

U.S. military forces were involved in two separate operations in Africa - one of them targeting a member of the group Al-Shabaab that was behind last month's Kenya mall attack, and the other going after an al Qaeda leader tied to bombings of two U.S. embassies.

The Al-Shabaab raid took place in Somalia, where that terrorist group is based, sometime in the past 24 hours, a senior U.S. official said Saturday evening.

The team of U.S. Navy SEALs had to withdraw before it could confirm whether it killed the target because they came under fire, the official said. The SEALs made the "prudent decision" to withdraw rather than engage in further combat, according to the official.

The other mission ended in the capture of Abu Anas al Libi, who is suspected to have played a significant role in the August 7, 1998, bombings of American embassies in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania; and Nairobi, Kenya, U.S. officials said.

Asking questions are genuinely nice thing if you are not understanding anything
fully, but this piece of writing provides nice understanding yet.

Such is to be expected from someone like you with your obvious limitations, jonny. You sound like another run of the mill, ignorant Tea Partier who loves war which means but death and destruction. Are you one?

Tell me U.S.M.C. 1371, did you ever any comment on this website any less intelligent than the one posted by this joker above who calls himself jonny? I never did and sending in those ungodly drones never solved any problem except to cause death and destruction for people living over in those countries. It's easy for us Americans to like those curses since they don't effect us in any painful way any many ignorant people here in America do, sadly enough!

Sorry U.S.M.C. 1371, for the misprint above. I meant ".......and many ignorant people here in America do,...", not "......any many ignorant people here in America do,...."

Don't forget the 5 dancing Israelis who were filming the attacks on 9/11. They turned out to be Mossad losers.

Bush captured Khalid Sheik Mohammad, you know, the mastermind and financier of the 9/11 attack. Bush also was responsible for capturing or killing several smaller non-state actors, and of course for pushing Mullah Omar and Saddam Hussein out of power (though Omar is still alive and hiding and Saddam of course was strung up.) Then again I guess one could argue that Bush merely gave the orders and our fighting men and women did the real work.

Either way, you have read my posts before Stan, you know I am not a fan of either Bush or Obama. However, anyday we capture or kill a major terrorist/barbarian warlord is a good day and just as much as I feel like Bush and Obama should be held accountable for their terrible decisions, both should also be given credit when it is due, and Obama has done spectacularly in capturing and killing barbarian leaders, yes much better than Bush, but also Bush had some victories himself, don't forget that.

The moral of the story is if you attack America, even if it takes a long time, we will eventually get you (granted your own people don't backstab you like they did to Hammami first.)

Zawahiri, White Widow, Zubeyr (if Zubeyr didn't die today), and Marlboro Man, you're next. My bet is Marlboro Man goes down next, he seems to be the least intelligent of the terrorist leaders.
