North Korea: Hints of calming rhetoric

In North Korea Friday, CNN’s told, two medium-range missiles are in their launchers, loaded and ready to go.

The White House says it won’t be surprised if Kim Jong Un orders those missiles to be fired as a test of his military power.

The communist leader is sending all sorts of signals about his next move and when it might happen, including an ominous new warning to foreign diplomats.

To give us the global view on this unfolding story, our Pentagon Correspondent Barbara Starr.

When I look at your web site in Safari, it looks fine but when opening in I.

If NK is calming its rhetoric on Monday, that means that sometime over the weekend the Chinese Ambassador delivered The Word to the NK leadership.

North Korea is China's dog, but China seems to like to have embarrassingly mangy and ill behaved pets that show what an ignorant, corrupt and foolish master China is. Eventually the people of NK will wise up like the Libyans, Syrians, Egyptians, Polish, East Germans, Romanians, Czechs, Hungarians, Bulgarians, Ukranians, Mongolians, Latvians, Lithuanians, Estonians, Azerbaijanis, etc, etc., and do away with their unelected and illegitimate current rulers.

This goes to show that China's rogue ally North Korea cannot be rational. Very bad for China. Wonder how many Chinese civilians have been kidnapped and taken back to North Korea?

Fight NK today or fight NK tomorrow eventually you're going to fight NK.

Hit them before they can hit US

Hitting NK would be a disaster! Another "no win" conflict – Viet Nam II, Iraq II, Afghanistan II. Even if we did, what do we win? Our "nation building" efforts all fail.
The only way to "win" against NK is to tell the Chinese, in no uncertain terms, that NK is their problem. China provides NK with food, fuel and rocket parts. When we tell China that your containers of manufactured products are not welcomed (banned) from entering the USA, they just might get the message! Then tell the Chinese that if they do nothing, we fully default on our debts held by them!!!

White House had made it clear that it is getting ready for the best and preparing for the worst, as it says it won’t be surprised if Kim Jong Un orders those missiles to be fired as a test of his military power. Honestly, people had tried enough to accommodate the ignorant needs of North Korea. We'll not see North Korea back to the talks as long as North Korea thinks it doesn't need or people think North Korea doesn't do something enough to pick up some significant political diplomacy chips that are helpful to its country and peaceful to the world.

"Talks" with NK are meaningless! Been there, done that! NK always fails to honor any agreements reached in "talks"!
NK is China's problem to solve, but they do very little. China is the life blood of NK. We need to tell China to solve this problem now, or your containers and ships are no longer allowed into US ports! This is the only way to stop this maddness!

@Stan,you just have to be more stronger with N Koreas big brother China and put your economic foot down period..Yes they do hold some of our debt and so does Europe as well but remember as you mentioned that we hold them by their collective economic balls as a major economic player buying most of their crap and if we squeeze enough no matter how big, strong economicly China is they will either listen or go down crying..This N Korean deal with sable rattling and idol threats have been around since the Korean war and if you talk to historians nothing happens anyway so again just keep your friends close and your enemies closer. If you can't trust the advisors in Washington who've done this before without a major conflict who can you trust ,not those war mongering republicans I do dare say!!

        @Pete
If the US turns away Chinese containers and container ships, then China will get the message! China controls No Korea, no one else does. China can fix this problem, they just refuse to do so.

Not right. We are going to let them launch it because we don't think they are capable of outfitting it with a nuclear warhead.
Immediately after the launch we will file a complaint with the UN and issue a stern warning to North Korea not to do it again, that it will not be tolerated, blah, blah, blah.
