Despite her repeated statements that she will leave public service once her successor is in place, buzz about a possible second run for the presidency by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is in full force following the showing of a tribute video of her career.
Before delivering remarks on U.S. and Israeli relations Friday, the Saban Center for Middle East Policy at the Brookings Institution rolled out a video replete with soaring music and effusive praise of Clinton's career by high-profile leaders and luminaries, and with it, continued speculation about whether she really has run her last political race.
"As someone who knows a thing or two about political comebacks, I don't think we have heard the last of Hillary Clinton," Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in the video.
"I have an instinct that the best is yet to come," said Tony Blair, the Middle East envoy and former British prime minister.
The video was part of the ninth annual forum by the Saban Center that focuses on the ongoing conflict between Israelis and Palestinians, and the U.S. role in dealing with it.
Clinton has repeatedly said that she intends to retire to private life once her successor is confirmed by the Senate, and that another run for the White House is not in the cards for her.
"Look, I'm flattered. I am honored," she told CNN's Wolf Blitzer this year about calls by other Democrats for her to consider another run in 2016. "That is not in the future for me, but obviously I'm hoping that I'll get to cast my vote for a woman running for president of our country."
But with other notable figures like Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, adding a healthy dose of bipartisan praise for America's top diplomat in the video, the never-ending question of will she or won't she seemingly lives another day. The blogosphere and airwaves were full of predictions Monday that the video signaled Clinton would make another run for the White House.
"The film was like an international endorsement four years in advance of the Iowa caucus and the New Hampshire primary," wrote David Remnick of The New Yorker magazine.
Clinton's onetime competitor and current boss added to the tribute.
"A lot has been said about our relationship, and here's what I know," President Obama said in the video. "You haven't only been one of my closest partners, you have become a great friend."
Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, Israeli President Shimon Peres and former U.S. Secretary of State Madeline Albright added their praise for Clinton in the video as well.
"I am somewhat overwhelmed, but I'm obviously thinking I should sit down," Clinton said to laughter as she took the stage to begin her remarks. "I prepared some remarks for tonight, but then I thought maybe we could just watch that video a few more times."

hilary clinton will solve israel-palestine problem, if she stays in her office. if she retires from her present position, she should go for 2016 presidential election and she will win unless john kerry comes to the picture. hilary clinton will eventually solve israel-palestine problem. she is a great help for obama
There has NEVER been a more qualified person, man or woman, to run for office of the U.S. presidency. I would be very disappointed if she doesn't run.
How fast the public forgets that Hillary is an accomplished liar. Both Clintons have always put themselves first before country. Power corrupts.
With an attack like that you need to show some examples. Or was that a hit-and-run on purpose?
It would be wonderful if she ran. Great lady
She will be 70 years old in 2016.....................
She'll actually be 69, the same age Ronald Reagan was when he won his first term in office. John McCain was 72 in 2008 when he ran. So she'll be the same age as Reagan, three years younger than McCain, and since women generally live about five years longer than men her age shouldn't be as much of a concern as it was for those two.
John (Get-off-my-lawn) McCain is 76 years old? Congress needs some rule changes. Some people really should be forced to retire.
Unlikely to see any rule changes in that regards from the legislative body that let Strom Thurmond hang around until he was 100 and colleagues described him as seeming "lost" and said things like he really didn't have anywhere else to go, words you'd usually use to describe a stray cat rather than a senator.
So you are saying that she is going to begin aging in reverse, and at an accelerated rate? She has to be at least 80 already. Either that or she dug up Charles Bronson and she's wearing his old dead face over hers. Aside from her unfortunate physical appearance, she's a horrible person. Ask Jim McDougal, oh yeah, you can't.
This Woman Cant even be SOS & you want her as Pres,?????/ O God Please.......
she is probably the best Secretary of State to date ... he could be President .. but at 70, she won't even consider it
Better than Dean Acheson, John Foster Dulles, George Marshall and Kissinger? I don't think so...
It is very easy to be better than Kissinger .. you just need not to be a murder. It's very hard to make a comparison between secretaries of state, given the historical context are different and in the end equally challenging.
I give you that ..
however, if you consider that Hillary is a woman and that she gets respected even in Islamic Countries, it tells you a lot about her diplomatic skills .
PS: Kissinger was extremely smart ... but that doesn't make him a good secretary of state .. True, he had to deal with the only real President crook, GOP Nixon ... but still, the damage Kissinger made to the American cause around the world is behind repair
If Hillary really wants to be a candidate, she would be less than happy by these nice word of the captioned celebrities. Iinitiating quasi-campaign activities so early, she would be painfully remember that in 2008 she was a shoe in only to be blown away by a young new candidate!!
And of course: if the GOP manages to get rid of the Tea Party dominance and revert to normal conservative policy, her chances to win possibly would be quite slim if their candidate is a attractive one (certainly not Rubio, Cruz nor Jindal, mayby Christy (if he looses 100 lb!!!) , I do not think that after the last 6 or 7 years campaigning and Secretary of State, at her age she would be prepared to continue campaigning, with no assurance of success, and if she loses, te Clinton legacy would be damaged Therefore I believe that she willdo what she says, retire!!! In the meantime, the outrgeously useless Media will coninue barking!!.
Of course, Bill Clinton would be eager the govern behind her, but he too will realize the drawbacks!!
Go get some rest Hillary and we will see in 2016.
President? Clinton? She couldn't even protect hte Ambassador who was murdered and the three other men???? And gets away with it and runs for President?
Why isn't she being questioned about Benghazi? Where was she on that Sunday morning when she should have been on those morning shows instead of Rice? Why did she lie to the American people?
Anyone who condones the use of those godawful drones to slaughter defenseless people is unsavory at best. There is no way on God's green earth that I'll vote for Hilary Clinton ever!!!
Someone wrote that !rich 9 had forgotten the eight years of the Bush Administration.........HE DIDN'T FORGET.........he just didn't know Bush WAS president...He was confused!!!! Sad...........!
please suppot our troops
http://www.airsplat.com/support-gi-troops.htm
I RICH 9......PLEASE DONOT REREGISTER AS A DEMOCRAT.....WE DON'T WANT YOU....we do have standards,,y'know!!!!!!!!
Now I understand why UN Ambassador Susan Rice was sent on the Sunday morning political talk shows to lie to the American public about the source behind the attacks on the American Consulate in Benghazi. The US State Department is responsible for providing security to US Foreign Embassies and Consulates and the State Departments incompetence under Hillary Clintons leadership led to the death of Ambassador Stevens and three other Americans. With Hillary being a potential 2016 democratic presidential candidate their is no way she could could go before the American public like Rice did and spread lies for the White House, that would have called into question her credibility and competency.
BS She was forced to take the fall.. wake UP
For Obama ?
You are so, so wrong. It was the republicans who cut millions from the budget that would have gone for the protections of our embassies. Do some homework before you write really stupid things!
Ambassador Stevens sent an Email in June to the State Department after two terrorists attacks on the Benghazi Consulate, requesting the State Department for more security and said he was in fear of another attack, and the State Department Failed to send additional security to protect the Benghazi consulate. The State department also failed to send a security detail during the 9 hour attack on the Benghazi consulate. The state departments lack of regard for safety for Ambassador Stevens and his under manned security detail was negligent, and unfortunately led to Stevens and 3 others death that fatal day.
Hag you are wrong and using a typical strawman argument by denying the truth and repeating a lie to cover your tracks.
Exactly and Rice can at least deny culpability.
"Irich 9".....You are seriously in need of some help!!... Why don't you get ahold of some reading material regarding our president and stay away from Fox {faux} news... You might sound like someone with knowledge. As it is you are so far off base that you sound like you are about ten years old { with apologies to ten year olds}.. Really....the truth is out there but you have to have the eagerness for truth to find it.........why not get rid of the baloney and give education a try??
Irich_9, if you think Obama is not qualified to be where he is today then you have no trust in every single aspect of our system. For you to say that Obama is not qualified to get an assitant manager job at a fast food joint, you have essentially identified yourself as nothing but hateful.
I voted for Hilary in the primaries the first time around. I would have voted for her in the general....but sadly I wasnt given that chance....so i voted McCain and then Romney
And they both lost to Obama.
Are you an Obamatard ?
It would be nice if she changed her mind, but I don't think she will. I believe she would make a great President.
i agree!
Irich_9: Please stop babbling. You are embarrassing yourself. Obama is a brilliant and self made man who grew up in relative poverty and rose to become a 2-term President of the United States. Unlike Mitt Romney, he didn't have anything handed to him. It's obviously absurd to say SENATOR OBAMA hadn't accomplished anything. Hello.
I'll vote for Hillary. Republicans will have a heck of a time finding a candidate who can beat her.
Hilary will be 69 in 2016.
I think she means it. She's done after this. She has done her part for God and country and deserves to spend her golded years doing whatever she wants to.
CNN – You Must to go to The Cafferty Files – Mr. Cafferty has a post on this subject – and I don't remember how many comments. But I hope people will Read His Post – regarding Hillary Clinton, as the "Answer" –

Larry in Houston
It's sickening in the first place that Hilary had to take a back seat to a guy who didn't even have a resume never mind any pertinent experience for the job. I'm pretty darn conservative but if it were Hilary running in this last election as opposed to Obama Vs. Romney, I very well may have voted for Hilary. I would have at least had to have put a lot of thought into it anyway since she is the one and only person in this entire administration that's even remotely qualified to be where she is, actually she's even overqualified. Prior to his first election to the Senate, Obama didn't even have the qualifications to get an assistant manager's job at a fast food joint, not that that's a bad job or anything. The man never did anything of importance in his life, just take a look at the community that he was a community organizer for, for years, the South Side of Chicago which also happens to be one of the worst places in the entire nation and that was his only actual job prior to being a senator. He went from never being in charge of anything at all to representing an entire state and then running the entire nation into the ground.
If there had been a primary race for the Democratic party this year between Hilary & Obama, I would re-register myself as a democrat just so I could vote in that Primary.
"He went from never being in charge of anything at all to representing an entire state and then running the entire nation into the ground."
Irich_9 – You have a bad case of Romnesia. You have forgotten the eight years of the George W. Bush Administration that saw the death of 3000 American residents due to four terrorist attacks on the same day September 11, 2001; a denial of a catastophic weather event, Katrina, that left thousands of people stranded throughout the Gulf Coast; and a refusal to regulate the financial services industry that brought the United States and Global economies to the brink of depression.
Since taking office, President Obama has rectified the failings of past administrations with grace. If you are the true supporter of Secretary Clinton as you claim, then you should take her lead and follow your President with support.
Why so hateful–You probably have a new car because money for clunkers helped you get a downpayment–your child probably has a hugh college bill that will be repaid based on salary instead of a pre-planned pay schedule–you probably get fancy steaks on 33 dollars per week food stamps bring because you are a @*@@@–we know you have a pre-existing condition so you are using the Afford Health Care Act money because it covers denial and untruthfulnes which is part of your mental health disorder
TO iampraying – Talk about 'hateful' your comments definitely are and I'm impressed in the way you tried to hide your racism. You may want to pray for your own soul considering is a bit bent. I'll pray for you cause God loves even racists.
oh really. and busch was a failed governer and failed business owner (oil and baseball ) who got where he is on pure nepotism. obama worked for everything he has accomplished. you are a fool
