President Barack Obama on Thursday defended his administration's handling of the Libya consulate attack, telling Jon Stewart on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" that he will ultimately fix any problems involving security for diplomatic posts.
"The government is a big operation and any given time, something screws up," he said in the interview to air Thursday night. "And you make sure that you find out what's broken and you fix it."

Stewart pressed the president on the aftermath of the terror attack that killed four Americans at a U.S. consulate in Benghazi last month. The administration has faced scrutiny over why the post was not more robustly staffed with security.
The comedian said the administration's response did not play out in an "optimal" way.
"I would say, even you would admit, it was not the optimal response, at least to the American people, as far as all of us being on the same page," Stewart said.
The president replied: "When four Americans get killed, it's not optimal. We're going to fix it. All of it."

OH" I thought it was a you tube video are was it just a bump in the road. What is Obama covering up. Sometimes I feel that he is Pinocchio on steroids. Why does CNN always cover up for Obama. I thought the news was posted be fair and balance. That's why I quit watching CNN some time ago. My God, can we ever get the truth...!

POTUS...this offends me, that you would speak so flippantly about 4 Americans placed in Benghazi by you to serve as representatives of our great Nation. Why would the President be discussing this with a comedian anyway?...Lowers the standards of the office of president. I hope CNN will investigate what is coming from Fox and see what is true about the failure to protect in Benghazi.

Again, CNN does its flack routine to cover Obama's butt. If Romney or some other Republican had said this, the headline would be "Romney dismisses deaths in Lybia" or something worse. CNN down plays Obama's smarmy remarks. The emporer trully has no clothes. CNN is running around with fig leaves.
How is the headline on the article about how Obama is going to 'Fix' it rather than him saying that "When four Americans get killed, it's not optimal."?? That is so disrespectful. This should be on the front page of your website CNN! Step up.
Wow is this hysterical. Obama goes on a comedy show for those hard hitting questions...and CNN reports it! Is he taking back his apologies and letting the film maker go? Obama is an international JOKE. Notice he has no close relationship with any international leaders. Every president had special relationship...Obama ZERO. That is what lack of experience does! How about being so self absorbed with your standing in the muslim world and giving your Ambassador in Libya, especially in Benghazi at least the same security you give Natalie Jarret on vacation. Seriously what the President needs to fix is his policies in the Middle East. Put it this way say what you want about GWB at least when he was President you could travel to the region. Try going to Egypt now, and you learn all you need to know about this Presidents foriegn policy.

Obama said to Jon Stewart that having 4 Americans die in Libya is not optimal. I say, having Obama as President, is not optimal either! What a weird and cold thing to say. Couldn't he think of something with more empathy about the tragedy of four murdered Americans, one of which was our Ambassador that he refused to protect! Also, I watched Obama speak at the dinner at the Waldorf tonight and I believe it was a Freudian slip when he said, well, after this dinner - tomorrow back to the campaign. How come he didn't say, after this dinner - tomorrow back to WORK!!! It shows where his head is, always campaigning, never working for his country - just campaigning to hold on to power. He sounds immature and it cannot be said he is a hard-WORKING President.
How about talking to the families that lost their son/husband on 9/11 with the attack in Libya? What about the apology video Obama with Clinton distributed in response to the terrorist attack, as an apology for the YouTube video nobody wathed?
