An Iran October surprise?

As unrest unfolds on the streets of Tehran over Iran's collapsing currency, and international sanctions take their toll on the economy, new signs are emerging that Iran may be willing to suspend its disputed nuclear program. But that all depends on if the country gets something in return. Foreign Affairs Correspondent Jill Dougherty reports.

Surprise? are CNN people with memory problems or they just can't believe that Iranian population is more than tire of their rulers? 75% of Iranian population is under 45 years old. WHAT DO YOU EXPECT? Don't forget Iran protest of 2006, Governments do not represent the will of their people, not anymore. Look America by itself.

Agree 100% People never seem to remember that no matter what country you are talking about, you only see the will of the government...not the will of it's people.

We saw the "will of the people" crushed there during the last election, while the Green Party cried out for the world's attention and our POTUS turned away, saying that we would " deal with the winners".

Yes I do, panamavet. Obama may be a Democrat but he keeps on slaughtering people in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Yemen with those godless drones and Apache helicoptors without any mercy whatsoever. That makes him just as much of a right-winger as any Republican!!!

  11. An Indian November Demise

We continue to be of the opinion that India is a zero sum event in history and that a break up of sorts is the optimum way to maximize its potential for the people. The current events in India reinforce our belief that the inevitable implosion of India has begun and the beginning of the end state is upon us. Whether that will be nirvana that most of us believe it will, is yet to be seen. But this we will say. This defragmentation of India will unleash boundless opportunities and uber economic demand that will be beneficial to US and Europe and help pull them out of current recessionary malaise. We pray for the events to unfold peacefully and in a harmonious manner for the people of India and its neighbors.

The American invasion of Afghanistan brought to the forefront the irrelevance of India as a nation. With a population of over 1.2 billion people there was no value that this nation could bring to the table. Their soldiers (ragtag) 1.2million continue hiding in the trenches scared from Talibans. A few teenage Talibans invaded the country and held it hostage for days on end showing how useless India is. It was embarrasing for the world to observe this humiliation of a nation that was being touted as a regional power. The Talibans brought them down in a few days with some BB guns. It is all over for India. Its demise is in process and should be completed with Afghanistan withdrawal

George- Not defending Sir Dane, but your utilization of terms that are hateful in and of themselves towards someone you don't even know anything about or where there are even from and you feel justified to make such a judgment? Pull the plank out of you own eye first pal, before you start worrying about the speck in your neighbors. Seen you comments before...wondering if the term hypocrisy even "registers" with you...and do you actually know the definition.

Well said, saeed. True, the U.S., Great Britain and France do need to be stopped but not nuked. Maybe Iran will make enough concessions to the West in order to eliminate this obnoxious policy of starving the Iranians into submission. I'm sick and tired of the right-wing thugs in Washington using hunger as another big stick in order to get their way!!!
