Pakistan general urges NATO to contain Taliban

Pakistani army chief Gen. Ashfaq Pervez Kayani complained to U.S. Gen. John Allen about Taliban incursions from Afghanistan into Pakistan when he met the commander of NATO forces in Afghanistan, a Pakistani army source said Wednesday.

Kayani urged NATO to stop militants from crossing the border, according to the source, who was not authorized to speak to the media.

Such action would help strengthen relations between the Pakistani armed forces and NATO, the source said Kayani  told the American general.

Relations between Pakistan and the United States are tense, with Pakistanis especially frustrated by what they say are U.S. drone attacks on suspected militants in their country.

NATO's International Security Assistance Force did not immediately comment on the reported meeting.

Allen had told Kayani that it was necessary for the two sides to cooperate since both were fighting terrorists, according to the source.

Allen said he would discuss the issue with authorities in Afghanistan, the source said.

    Modern closets can be built into the walls of the house during construction so that they take up no apparent space in the bedroom, or they can be a large, free-standing piece of furniture designed for clothing storage, in which case they are often called a wardrobe or armoire. Closets are often built under stairs, thereby using awkward space that would otherwise go unused.;

I like how they come crawling back to NATO for help after they can't take the increased contact with the Taliban. What did they expect when they closed off border crossings into Afghanistan to the U.S. Military. Catch 22, huh.

General Kayani, hopefully you are factoring in the fallout from your neighboring country as enunciated below. This can overshadow the Afghanistan problem. Unfortunately, you are living in a BAD neighborhood.

The Indian Debacle could overshadow the European crisis. GDP that has dropped off the cliff (4% est), budget deficits, collapse of Indian rupiah, rampant poverty, unemployment, FDI reversal, companies leaving town are some of the disastrous events that are threatening the Indian state. The downward spiralling is so severe that the Indian government has been unable to control it. Even the Americans have been unable to help and several trips by the treasury secretary were not helpful. This also has security repercussions for India and US defense secretary and secretary of state have flown in to counsel India on how to protect its borders with the help of Israel/IDF. Rumors have it that the breakup of India along the lines of Soviet Union is a very plausible scenario that I am sure intelligence agencies all over
the world are factoring in their geopolitical stress tests.

So sad for the Pakistani people. I really empathize with Jefe, who wants to write about a Pakistan that he can only dream of. Unfortunately the Army GHQ has brought Pak to where it is today – an International untouchable, a terrorist haven, extremist snakes spreading their poison and slowly killing Pak itself, encircled by nations that hate it. As international citizens we all need to have pity for Pakistani people who are paying for repeated army miscalculations. Have people seen how the Muslim world that Pakistan purports to represent, treats Pakistanis today? Have you seen how Saudi Arabia is eager to and signs multi-million dollar trade agreements with arch-enemy India? Poor Pakistanis, may they find how to resolve this situation before Pakistan has to be broken into 5 manageable pieces.

INDIA: On a Goat and a Stick:

The problem with India is that is built on a system of cultural and societal values based on Hinduism which is a cult. Nations built on a cult seldom survive in the long run. You can only take it so far based on symbolisms of a goat and a stick with a skinny little man aka gandhi banging boys at night and spinning wheels during daytime.

Of course, we can carve out a hindu nation along the a portion of the western coast where they can continue to practice their medieval culture and hopefully come into the folds of the modern world within the next century.
Otherwise, I am afraid, extremism will continue to fester in that region and continue to become a threat for the western nations. We have been fighting a war for the past ten years with no end. Our soldiers have shed blood to no end. Their families are suffering. Has even one Indian soldier sacrificed his life in helping the Americans, NATO and western countries in fighting this war? The answer is a resolute NO. Folks, just think about it, 1.2 million Indian Army soldiers are sitting in trenches doing what???? Sure the heck beats me. Americans are now questioning the US Congress as to what they are doing to correct this unsustainable relationship with India. The India caucus is being monitored by citizen groups. If they don't respond to the needs of the American people political contributions to them will be severely impacted.

DEMISE OF INDIA: The aftermath of Afghanistan invasion
The American invasion of Afghanistan brought to the forefront the irrelevance of India as a nation. With a population of over 1.2 billion people there was no value that this nation could bring to the table. Their soldiers (ragtag) 1.2million continue hiding in the trenches scared from Talibans. A few teenage Talibans invaded the country and held it hostage for days on end showing how useless India is. It was embarrasing for the world to observe this humiliation of a nation that was being touted as a regional power. The Talibans brought them down in a few days with some BB guns. It is all over for India. Its demise is in process and should be completed with Afghanistan withdrawal.

    • Gen. Walter "Kashmir" Kane

The bottom line is that the only way to have peace in Afghanistan and lessen regional tension is split India into pieces. It has become too big to govern or create any value for western countries or even for its own population. We have invested a lot of resources in India over the past two decades and given a lot of aid to prop it up. There has been no investment on this return. Instead India has squandered all the resources in building nuclear weapons while poverty remains rampant in the country. We need to revisit our relationship with India. American taxpayers will not tolerate this anymore. We need to take care of our own populace going forward. We cannot be exporting jobs to India or giving it financial or technical handouts

Birth of Pakistan – Beginning of the Demise of India

This year marks the first implosion of India as a nation. This year also represents the loss of Indian conscience following the massacre of over 3 million innocent Muslim civilians, women and children who were migrating to Pakistan. We shall never forget. We won’t let the world forget. There will be accountability.

Wow! What a distortion of reality. Truth is muslims were safer during the migration compared to Hindus fleeing from newly formed Pakistan then. No wonder many muslims stayed back in India during that time despite formation of Pakistan for muslimes. Today the highest population of muslims is actually in India. The surviving Hindus were actually forcefully converted or presecuted. But what's really worse is how the muslims that migrated to Pkaistan were treated. They are dubbed mujahirs and treated as second-class citizens. First rectify that and then worry about others

Across all religions and cultures it is a basic tenet of human decency that human lives are valued and apologies are offered to the aggrieved by those responsible for the deaths. It nothing more, the words of apology are soothing to the families of those who died. In this case, Pakistan's contention is that Afghan forces and Indian intelligence deliberately provided misleading information to US/NATO forces and used them to kill 24 Pakistani paramilitary soldiers.

what shocked me was a recent news article about an ongoing genocide in India. It is indicative of a total disregard of human lives. I would have thought that this would have ended with Kosovo and Bosnia. Perhaps it is time for USA and NATO to start bombing New Delhi as it did in Kosovo and Bosnia to stop this ethnic cleansing and murders. After all the military assets are nearby in Afghanistan and Bahrain and this could be accomplished with minimal cost.

It appears to me that Muslims are the fastest growing segment of world society today. As others are withering away the Muslims seem to be rising again with their contributions as was the case historically when they ruled India and Europe and left behind a legacy of science, art, architecture, culinary et al. Due to the prevailing political climate in USA the apology appears to be forthcoming after preventive measures are put in place to minimize political outfall, polls are conducted to gage the effect and a face saving exit from Afghanistan has been figured out. It is a matter of time. Meantime, it will be a gesture of utmost magnanimity and generosity by Pakistan to continue to enable friends and allies to achieve common goals by offering their resources and stand with them shoulder to shoulder. This is what separates men from boys. However, there should be no more free lunches. Pakistan has paid a disproportionate share of costs both in lives and kind in fighting this terror war to make USA, the World and its neighbors safe. Enough is enough.

    PAKISTAN !!!!

THANK YOU …. THANK YOU…. THANK YOU!!!!
FOR MAKING USA SAFE FOR MAKING THE WORLD SAFE>>>>>>>>>>>>
Since Sep 11, 2001, over 200,000 Pakistani civilians, armed forces personnel have either sacrificed their lives or wounded; more than 3.5 million have been displaced while the country has lost over
US $ 1 Trillion due to terrorism.

Despite sacrifices, Pakistan was still engaged in 'the war for world peace”.

No other country has even come close to selflessly sacrificing so much.

Pakistan, no one can ever repay you enough for your contributions.
You deserve a permanent seat in the UN Security Council for your contributions to world peace and emergence of a new world order. We welcome your rise as the new regional military power. God Speed.

No Pakistan. These Taliban are not Afganistan Taliban. They may be returning from Afganistan. These are the same snakes you raised in your backyard and now have turned on their handlers.

Remind me why we're responsible for Pakistan's border security? Seems to me they were throwing a fit about something with their borders and us just a few weeks ago... What was it...

We israeli's are responsible for india's security. I was one of the team who put the wood fence up along the western border and incandescent flood lights.
