EXCLUSIVE: Israel's president warns "time is out" for Iran

Editor's note: Watch Elise Labott's interview with Shimon Peres at 1pET on CNN's Newsroom with Suzanne Malveaux

By Elise Labott, reporting from Jerusalem

Time is running out for a diplomatic solution to Western concerns about Iran's nuclear program, Israeli President Shimon Peres said Monday in an interview with CNN.

He said Iran continues to flout the United Nations and world leaders by pushing forward with work on its nuclear program - including, he said, work on a nuclear weapon. But he said Iranian leaders would be making a costly mistake in believing the threat of military action is an empty one.

"You cannot provoke the world, assuming the world is made of fools only," Peres said.

His comments come at the start of talks in Moscow between Iran and the group of nations that have taken the lead on the issue: the United States, France, Britain, Russia, China and Germany. Peres is not attending the meetings.

The International Atomic Energy Agency and Western leaders have expressed concern about Iran's nuclear effort, including its uranium enrichment program and possible work toward a nuclear weapon. Iranian leaders have repeatedly said the work is purely peaceful.

Previous rounds of talks have failed to result in any agreement.

Peres said Western leaders should remain united on the issue and called for the United States to assume the role of "elder statesman" in reaching a solution. He endorsed the strategy of exhausting non-military options, including sanctions, against Iran.

But he said there must be a credible threat of a military strike for those options to be successful.

"If the Iranians will understand seriously that this is an option, maybe we shall not need it," he said. "If they think this is a bluff, then it may lead to a war."

"For that reason, the warning must be credible, the sanctions must be credible," he said. "So let's first of all use the non-military means, indicating to the Iranians, 'Gentlemen, better you agree with a non-military confrontation than look for other options.' "

Iran has pressed for the removal of sanctions, including a ban on oil exports that appears to be exacting a serious toll on Iran's economy. U.S. and other officials have said sanctions must stand.

Here is the exchange:

Elise Labott: World powers are meeting with Iran in Moscow. Are you expecting anything from these talks or is it a waste of time? Is Iran playing for time?

Shimon Peres: I am not sure that something will happen there for two reasons. A) the Iranians think this is just a warning, That people are not serious enough. And the second is they believe can introduce a split in the coalition that President Obama has built. I don’t think it will happen because the danger is uniting, not the policy. Iran is a real danger

Labott: Do you think the military threat is credible enough?

Peres: If the Iranians will understand seriously that this is an option, maybe we shall not need it. If they think this is a bluff, then it may lead to a war . For that reason, the warning must must be credible, the sanctions must be credible. So let’s first of all use the non-military means, indicating to the Iranians, "Gentlemen, better you agree with a non-military confrontation than look for other options."

Labott: How long do they have?

Peres: I think time is out because they continue to build the bomb. They continue to do things which are contrary to the UN provisions, to the atomic center of Geneva. They build, the provoke. The continue to enrage the Iranians. You cannot provoke the world assuming the world is made of fools only.

Labott: So time is out you are saying, this is it?

Peres: I think time is beginning to be out, yes.

There are tens of millions of Americans who are homeless or are facing foreclosures or who have lost their jobs,, there are tens of millions of American children living on food stamps, there are tens of thousands of schools, highways, bridges et al that need to be repaired in the US, and Israel-Firsters keep on demanding that WE, The American Taxpayer, continue to pay this parasitic leeching welfare state called IsraHell while needy Americans are desperate as this web site shows:  http://www.ifamericaknew.org/stats/114bill.html
And now these Israel-Firster politicians are going to force ordinary Americans to pay more money for gas with their stupid focus on fighting wars against other countries for IsraHell’s benefit!!!!
These AIPAC politicians from both the Republican and Democratic Parties are ready to sell out the USA for their "PRECIOUS" Israel (said like Golem in the Lord of The Rings)!!!!
Like most most American politicians from both the Democratic and Republican parties who have simply become slaves of the American Israel Public Affairs Committtee (AIPAC), these so-called USA politicians have their tongues slavishly buried so far up where the sun doesn't shine in the backside of AIPAC that they  won't say squat about why IsraHell (who Israel-Firsters constantly claim is so economically great and advanced and such a success and blah blah blah....), continues to feed off the trough of America like some sort of leech for fifty plus years to a cost amounting to hundreds of billions of dollars ($5 billion plus per year), and still counting!!!.
After all, if IsraHell is as successful as Israel-Firsters claim that it is, then it is only reasonable to expect that it will be able to stand on its own instead of coming cap in hand like a street corner hobo demanding never-ending charity from WE THE AMERICAN TAXPAYERS without any end in sight.  Over the last fifty years, IsraHell has received billions of dollars annually to an amount in the hundreds of billions if not trillions of dollars!!
After all, if countries of comparable size to IsraHell like Sweden and Norway are all making it on their own without needing or asking for American aid then so should that parasitic leech of a state..
Logically, the tax dollars of hard-working Americans should be reserved for truly needy Americans or perhaps third world countries like Ethiopia, Angola, and so on and not a so-called successful nation like Israel is (as Israel-Firsters constantly claim Israel is!!!!).
Ohhhh well, I guess Israel-Fisrters from AIPAC have so well corrupted America's body politic that Americans have only started to notice how Israel-Firster politicians from both the Democratic and Republican parties have betrayed America and its values to such an extent that their tongues have turned blue like IsraeHell’s flag….it looks like these politicians’ actual allegiance is to Israel and not to America!!!
Iran's nuclear rights cannot be ignored!

hilarious, if we threaten them and they pretend to give up and asymmetrically fight a war against all american presence in the middle east using ties to independent organizations and arming militants, we win.

Seems that a lot of people share my views, I'm so tired of Israel using the US as a bodyguard. Fight your own battles! I think Iran is run by crazy people too, but you can't sanction one country for trying to acquire what you have hundreds of. Why can we trust Israel to use nucs responsibly, but not Iran? Ask the people of the Gaza area how peaceful the Israelis are. Ugh, nothing I hate more than hypocrisy.

Your response to the Iran nuke issue makes a lot of sense.Maybe if we stop being so hypocritical ,and accept the fact that Iran has the same right to nukes(,if they so desire ),as Isreal, which has them,we would be in a better position to judge.Have Israel give up theirs, and then you would be in a position to enforce the removal of nukes from Iran.

It's so sad how some Christians are like sheep, blindly follow whatever Israel says!
No war with Iran and losing more American lives, your fight is yours!! NOT the USA's fight!
Close to 5000 American boys lost along with two and half trillion spent to protect Israel from "WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION in Iraq and none were found?! NOW It's a Irans threat of nuc's that was even opened to U.N. inspection and none found, but Israel sits on a pile of nuc's??? Is there something not fair about this pcture!
Remeber the USS Liberty, the Lavon affair, Beruit bombings, Americans KILLED for???? Zionism??!
More and more and hopefully more Americans and Jewish Americans are waking up to this looking the gift horse in the mouth syndrome! It's obious there is no respect for the USA from Israel!
GOD loves biblical Israel, and it's peoples, but am sure NOT the Zionist goverment!
Just leave the USA out of it, please! and maybe not being the only Halocaust victims,, Israel won't even regonize the Armenian holocaust,, 4 million Christian kiiled for their faith and also the first nation to accept Christ by the Apostles! Where was or is the Christian church here in support, ZERO!!!???? shame!
AND of course your always a anti-semite if you speak the truth, even if you are a Jew! America FIRST!

The bible says that iran and syria will attack israel soon but how soon the only one that knows that answer is god. The world will see one more huge war larger than world war 1 and 2 put together which will start the rapture of the church is when us believers in god will got to heaven and you jesus or god haters will stay here to suffer the 7 years of the tribulation period which includes god wrath apon the earth to rid you evil ones presence. Israel will not ever be destroyed because god said it will be spared and it will be the christians new home in the end of time.

Israel is running its mouth again like they have any power and independence. Israel would not exist but for the US. The US has complete control over Israel. Everyone in the world knows this. Israel is so arrogant it will many times not comply to US directives. I guess Israel does not want to exist again so they can chalk up another "victumization" on their long history.

Don't be so naive to believe that it's Israel being the only beneficiary of steadfast US support. The US uses Israel just as much to maintain a strong influence in the middle east. Everyone knows this. Start studying the word "proxy" and then you'll find considerable information about how certain allies and enemies chastise one another and fight for certain ideals-This examples are plentiful; US/Saudi pack for Us oil and Saudi protection. Especially against Saudies biggest threat Iran. –Russia vetoing NATO resolutions against Iran and Syria. Why the russians makes money selling weapons to Iran/Syria, Russia also helps keeps US influence in Middle East from going unchecked-another proxy conflict to irritate US and toi remind world Russia is still a real power.

I don't mean to lecture you on your comments here it's just you're certainly oversimplifying things as if any foreign policy exists in a vacuum-there are countless other reasons for why the US and Israel have a tight relationship: i.e. similar ideals about democracy, US led defeat of Nazi Germany, significant American-Jewish population etc. etc.

yes they are and they have their right. The U.S.A will never attack israel and for that matter read your history back in 1967 we made a peace treaty with israel that says if Israel gets attacked we will defend them and that goes for israel too to defend us as well. The weapons israel has we helped them make them and showed them how to make more. You all need to remember that the U.S.A will defend israel for 2 main reasons 1) israel and the U.S.A are both christain or religious country in which our money should tell you that. The song god bless america and in god we trust is on our money and also god is in our pledge of eligence. I hope you understand that. 2) We both have a government not a parliment or a king or queen. 3) the 1967 peace treaty is a big one that the usa gave israel the right to get rid of the islamic people that were in control of israel and the usa helped israel with that issue. In the end the U.N and the U.S.A will defend israel

I found as a young adult that if and when you beat a israel at there own game even if by accident the israel goes away for ever and if you talk to them decades later the first and only thing out of their mouth is how you did somthing very very wrong and you are very insulting–then they go into hiding again–and one of their childhood budddys will appear out of thin air and give you a earful of abuse making sure they bring up the first israel who you did not ever remember how they even knew each other or why when they were together they spoke in so much critical detail about you–and the second israel has to tell you about their great new toy car or house or boat or whatever they think you will care about but dont–

If iran attacks israel iran will be defeated because god says so and every thing is going according to gods word or the word of god in the bible. I think before you all speak your nonsence and flap you lips you should read the book of ezekiel and you might learn something

time to stop iran is out. Irans plan according to the bible in the book of Ezekiel is to destroy Israel but god says also in Ezekiel 32 that israel will not be defeated but will be revived and renewed. Israel has a big part in the end when jesus destroys satin in the armageddon war before us believers start a new hear on earth. All of this is written in the book of ezekiel verse 1 till the end of ezekiel and revulations is another area of the bible that talks about it as well

There were a great deal of unfortunate misleading statements about Jews funding US politics earlier in some of the first blogs.I was raised in christian faith, and of european descent but I cant buy that unsubstantiated line of fantasy. Israel is a US alli of great importance that is a buffer against Iran. May I also remind everyone that there is a group out there that loves to denouce Israel ,and they fall under the general group called Islamic extremists. This doesnt mean everyone with an opposing view should be branded terrorist, but this line of thinking helps to drive a wedge between the US and an important friendly nation.

Israel needs to be reminded that war is only death, destruction, disease, and horror. When Israel admits to its own nuclear program then they have a right to criticize Iran. There is no evidence Iran is creating nuclear weapons, remember slam dunk statement about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Israel needs to make peace with the Palestinians. Where is the Palestinian state Bush promised by 2005 ??? We need world peace so the world economy gets back in to order. The Bush recession created by the debt of his wars will only be made worse by a war with Iran. Why has Israel not created a multinational state with intermarriage of Israelis with Palestinians and Christians ? Why are Christians fleeing Israel ? World peace is needed. No more wars of choice.

John, Israel has said that they have nuclear weapons, although they have not detonated any. Also, just because no WMDs in final delivery form were found, does not mean that chemical or biological weapons did not exist. Saddam buried part of his air force in the desert wrapped in plastic believing the war would be like Gulf War I. Who's to say he didn't do the same to chemical artillery shells? The other thing never hear about is the tons of chemical barrels filled with Lord knows what over there. Just because they weren't packed into a distributable medium doesn't mean they weren't chemical weapons (also known as WMDs mkay)

I agree with you. We cant afford to underestimate anyone, or any country, especially Iran, and making comparisons are non-credible. God can only create world peace, we are the creators of our own messes and that's human nature. As for Iran, when the words Nuclear Weapons keep coming up, I would take it pretty darn serious.

If you're a historian, for real, you'd know about the fact that Islam has been in "conquest mode" from its earliest beginnings, and has remained in that mode ever since. You might even have figured out that when "Islam flowered," the scholarship of those achievements was through "dhimmis," scholars of the conquered lands, like Spain, for which the Muslims took all the credit.

Had they actually done those accomplishments, why have they done NOTHING else in the interim?

Israel probably has nukes. But they are as affected by the Mutually Assured Destruction principle as anyone else is. Except the Muslims, who'd cheerfully die as martyrs from the inevitable retaliation from any nation THEY had nuked. To them, they would still be the victors, going straight to paradise.

"Making peace with the Palestinians" shows how little you know about Islam. Muslims NEVER make peace – real peace – with infidels. It's prohibited by Allah. If you ARE a historian, surely you'd know what an "absolutist" religion really means?

Like most people in the free world, you tend to think of Islam as "just another religion." It's anything BUT that. YOU may be a historian, but I have been a scholar of Islam for 18 years. Maybe you should do likewise.

The Palestinians are Muslims. They lie, as all Muslims do, to us infidels. A Palestinian state would only give them national sovereignty out of which they would continue launching their genocidal war against Israel. Israel will NEVER let them have that state, even though they have to cater to OUR notions that such a state is an inherent good.

And where is it written – and verifiable – that Christians are fleeing from Israel? And if they are, is it because Israel has mistreated them, or because they fear what the future holds for that little piece of real estate?

World peace is needed, you say. Absolutely, it is, and just as absolutely, it can't be had. World peace, especially today, is a rose-colored glasses pipedream. We need to be realistic about what's going on in the world. Nobody can stop most of the horrors, but at least some can be contained. I'd love a kumbaya world as much as you would, but actually thinking it can come about diminishes our ability to see and analyze clearly the things we really CAN do something about.

Avoiding war, though, is spot on. Especially where Muslims are involved. My other postings here make it clear why that is so.

Your entire post is one convoluted piece of subjective opinion. You haven't demonstrated anything you said to be true. You just say it and try to pass it off as fact. I can with factual evidence debunk most of what you said but it would be just as long winded and I don't want to waste my time except to point out what I already did which is point out to all that claims based in opinion are not fact. Just because you "feel" it or believe it does not make it so.

You do of course realize that Zionism is a religous cult? Right? The Zionists despise the non-jew and consider them on the same level as dogs. Zionists are waiting for their prophet no different than the mullahs await the mendi. Right this very second the Zionists are rounding up African immigrants, holding them imprisoned (entire families) for up to 3 years without charge, and deporting them en masse because they, get this, pollute the 'character of the homeland'. Sorry, but religous nuts are religous nuts. I'm not a fan of any religous nuts having nuclear weapons... but it is their right to defend themselves from those that do. All things being fair. You know, Justice and all that stuff.

Israel keeps crying "wolf" (against Iran), in spite of no credible "evidence"! The longer someone cries "wolf", sooner or later the imaginary wolf is believed to be real! George W. did the same against Iraq, what came of this? As long as Israel keeps poking a stick at Iran and crying "wolf", eventually the poking will result in awakening a dangerous animal that is of no real threat. When poked enough, the "wolf" will respond! Yet Israel keeps on poking! So what if Iran builds a nuke? They know very well that any attempt to use it will result in their immediate destruction, no doubts about this! So why does Israel continue poking at Iran with a stick?

Now we learn that Israel is buying German submarines (with US taxpayer dollars!) with the intent of equipping them with US made nuclear armed missiles! What idiots! Was nothing ever learned from the "Cold War"? No one today can afford to launch a nuclear weapon, for any reason! Just keep on poking Iran with a stick, sooner or later Israel will come to highly regret this strategy! George W. got it wrong in Iraq, no lesson learned! Israel is playing a very dangerous game that has no place in the world today!

So the only way to peace in and around the Afghanistan region is dismantling the terrorist network and financing emanating from India, cutting it up into smaller nations along the lines of communist USSR and let smaller and more gentle and economically dynamic states emerge, stopping the genocide in Kashmir of muslim children/women, subjugation of minorities, prosecution of Christians and Muslims. Furthermore the ridiculously large and ineffective Indian army needs to be dismantled and put to use in assisting the poverty stricken masses and not sitting in trenches hiding from Talibans.

When Obama expressed himself, using peace and freedom (concerning Peres) in the same sentence, it’s was sick joke. Obama and Peres are both war criminals in expensive clothing. It’s ironic that they both won the Noble Peace Prize and if you want to do a gradation, Peres is more of a war criminal than Obama, extensively more so.

There is a reason why Peres got the award during this election year here in the United States, because more than half of the funding that Obama is going to be receiving, and he has to rely on, is from the Jewish funded PAC money that dominates the political arena here in the United States. The Jewish American affluence is the political elite and the financial elite in the United States.

You know, Jews only represent about 2 percent of the population of the United States, but you have to realize there are over 200 major ethnic groups in the United States and the top 30 ethnic groups in the United States represent about 90 percent of the population.

Jewish Americans are somewhere in the middle, like 15, 16- yet they represent the bulk either in majority or in plurality for the funding on presidential elections. 40 percent of the billionaires in the United States are Jewish-Americans. Jews in the United States are the most affluent ethnic group of that top 30 that I was referring to.

...60 percent of your funding for the Democratic Party coming from Jewish PACs and 35 percent of the funding for the Republican Party from Jewish PACs and this is according to Richard Cohen who is a Jewish-American and he wrote this in his column sometime in 2006 in The Washington Post.

He was just updating something that was researched by J.J. Goldberg in his book called Jewish Power that was published in the early 1990s.

There is a heavy, heavy reliance on Jewish PAC money, here in the United States, 35 percent of the money for the Republican Party comes from Jewish funded PACs and 60 percent of the funding for the Democratic Party comes from Jewish funded PACs.

If anybody criticizes the United States veto vote in the Security Council, they get marginalized or they get voted out of office.

People on Capitol Hill here in the United States and Washington D.C. are very, very scared of AIPAC, of the Jewish lobby, the Israel lobby. It’s the strongest lobby when it comes to foreign policy. They dictate the terms. It’s not a conspiracy theory. There’s no sloppy thinking involved. It’s just a matter of where the money is coming from.

If you’re an academic and you have very, very strong reasoning abilities where you can influence the public or a segment of the public, you get marginalized. You get marginalized whether you’re a Jewish individual or non-Jewish individual in this culture.

    Peace.

        Targeting

AIPAC does not give donations directly to candidates, but those who donate to AIPAC are often important political contributors in their own right. In addition, AIPAC helps connect donors with candidates, especially to the network of pro-Israel political action committees. AIPAC president Howard Friedman says “AIPAC meets with every candidate running for Congress. These candidates receive in-depth briefings to help them completely understand the complexities of Israel’s predicament and that of the Middle East as a whole. We even ask each candidate to author a ‘position paper’ on their views of the US-Israel relationship – so it’s clear where they stand on the subject.”[40]

This process has become more targeted over time according to Bard, "In the past, Jewish contributions were less structured and targeted than other interest groups, but this has changed dramatically as Israel-related political action committees (PACs) have proliferated."[18] Among politicians considered unfriendly to Israel who AIPAC has helped defeat include Cynthia McKinney, Paul Findley, Earl F. Hilliard, Pete McCloskey, Senators William Fulbright and Roger Jepsen, and Adlai Stevenson III in his campaign for governor of Illinois in 1982.[41] The defeat of Charles H. Percy, Senator for Illinois until 1985, has been attributed to AIPAC-co-ordinated donations to his opponent after he supported the sale of AWACS planes to Saudi Arabia. Donations included $1.1 million on anti-Percy advertising by Michael Goland, who was also a major contributor to AIPAC.[41] Former executive director of AIPAC, Tom Dine, was quoted as saying, "All the Jews in America, from coast to coast, gathered to oust Percy. When Obama expressed himself, using peace and freedom (concerning Peres) in the same sentence, it’s a sick joke. Obama and Peres are both war criminals in expensive clothing. It’s ironic that they both won the Noble Peace Prize and if you want to do a gradation, Peres is more of a war criminal than Obama, extensively more so.

There is a reason why Peres got the award during the election year here in the United States, because more than half of the funding that Obama is going to be receiving, and he has to rely on, is from the Jewish funded PAC money that dominates the political arena here in the United States. The Jewish American affluence is the political elite and the financial elite in the United States, in Washington politics, both national and local politics.

But concerning national politics you have to filter everything through Jewish funded PAC money. There is a heavy, heavy reliance on Jewish funded PAC money, here in the United States, 35 percent of the money for the Republican Party comes from Jewish funded PACs and 60 percent of the funding for the Democratic Party comes from Jewish funded PACs.

Israel can take care of itself, we've supplied them with enough money and arms to do so and they don't need our permission to take out Iran. So have it and leave us out of it.

THEY'RE NOT SPECIAL, OR EXCLUSIVE, AND IT MAKES ME PUKE TO WATCH THE WAY THEY TREAT AND ABUSE THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF THEIR ILL GOTTEN LAND, INCLUDING, EVEN THE INDIGENOUS PALESTINIAN JEWS, AND GET AWAY WITH IT! THESE PEOPLE HAVE TO LEARN SOME MANNERS! THEY ARE A POISONOUS AND SELF SERVING THORNE IN THE SIDE OF, WHAT COULD BE, A BETTER SOCIETY.

Can you explain WHAT MAKES ARABS so special and WHO gave them the right to force the Jews out? After all, Israel recognized the right of all Arab states to exist but only two Arab states recognized the right of Israel to exist... and the Arabs complain that the Israelis still to exist and even prosper.

If the Israelis take out Qom or Natanz then the Iranians should take out the Negev NRC. Both countries will be laid to waste and the world can go on without the petty bickering. Enough is enough already.

Sorry, stuxnet was an epic fail for you Israel.

Go for it Israel. Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Afghanistan, Lebanon and others are at their weakest... Here is your chance to rule the entire region ;-) I'm joking of course, but they could easily wipe out their neighbors who's current political condition is weak to say the least.

There is no country in more United Nations violations than Israel. So why are they complaining that Iran is in violation? Perhaps because they will tell us again about the holocost and thus their greater right than any other nation.

You nailed it, Rudy! Can you imagine the outrage if Pres Obama or one of his predecessors cancelled a weapons program in response to pressure from a foreign govt? But when Israel says jump, we're supposed to ask 'How high?"

According to a report commissioned by the US Army War College, “Israel uses roughly 40 percent of its $3 Billion dollar US military aid, ostensibly earmarked for purchase of US weapons, to buy Israeli-made hardware. It also has won the right to require the Defense Department or US defense contractors to buy Israeli-made equipment or subsystems, paying 50 to 60 cents on every defense dollar the US gives to Israel.” So, israel is making money off US aid...

Who gave Israel the right to have nuclear weapons??? They have plenty of nuclear bombs! Now they're buying submarines from Germany and outfitting them with nukes. What for? This way they can attack any nation with a close proximity to a sea or ocean.

Israel is the real threat to the world peace!!!

The phrase the “Samson Option” is used to describe Israel’s strategy of massive nuclear retaliation against “enemy” nations should its existence as a Jewish state be jeopardized through military attack. Israeli leaders created the term in the mid-1960s, inspired by the Biblical figure Samson, who destroyed a Philistine temple, killing himself and thousands of Philistine enemies.[1][2]

Israel refuses to admit officially that it has nuclear weapons – a policy known as “nuclear ambiguity” or "nuclear opacity."[3] This despite government officials inferring repeatedly – and occasionally admitting – the fact. And despite Israeli nuclear whistle blower Mordechai Vanunu making public smuggled photographs of nuclear weapons and production equipment in the 1980s.[4] Israel now may have as many as 400 atomic and hydrogen nuclear weapons,[5][6] as well as the ability to launch them via long range missiles, submarines and aircraft.[7] It can use them in a second strike even if its military is devastated.

Originally a strategy of last resort retaliation – even if it means Israel’s annihilation – it has developed into being a nuclear bullying strategy to further Israel’s territorial goals through threats and blackmail. Israel has bullied not only Arab and Muslim nations, but the United States and Russia with its Samson Option threats. Mordechai Vanunu has alleged that Israel uses for purposes of blackmail its ability to "bombard any city all over the world, and not only those in Europe but also those in the United States."[8]

    Official policy and threats

During the 1960s Israel concentrated on conventional military superiority to defend lands confiscated in the 1948 and 1967 wars – and to convince Palestinians in Israel and the occupied territories that they could not break free of it. However, in 1973's Yom Kippur War Israel was almost overwhelmed by Arab forces. Prime Minister Golda Meir authorized a nuclear alert, ordering 13 atomic bombs be prepared for missiles and aircraft. Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Simha Dinitz threatened “very serious conclusions" if there was not an immediate airlift of supplies.[9] This forced U.S. President Richard Nixon to make emergency airlifts of state of the art military supplies to Israel.[10][11]

This is seen as the first threat of the use of the Samson Option. [15]

In 1973 Israel used the largest airlift of US materiel in history to defeat Arab forces attempting to regain their own land, triggering the Arab oil embargo that sent the US into a recession that cost thousands of Americans their jobs.

A passage from the jews filthy talmud:

Schulchan Aruch, Choszen Hamiszpat 156 (1903 translation)

When a jew has a Gentile in his clutches, another Jew may go to the same Gentile, lend him money and in turn deceive him, so that the Gentile shall be ruined. For the property of a Gentile, according to our law, belongs to no one, and the first Jew that passes has full right to seize it.

Hear, hear! You nailed it. We've been listening to the Zionists threats for more than two decades now. For 20 years we've heard that the 'time is up' for Iran. If yer gonna bring it, then bring it. We have a term for people that make blustery threats day after day and year after year: whiney goof.

If the powers that be want to wage an all out World War they should grow a pair and do it now. If there's going to be medieval like killing to be done around the globe let us do it and spare our children and grandchildren. I don't want a war, but if things are going to become like hell on earth I'd rather do it myself and spare further generations the mess our failed leaders have created. Our 'leaders' are just pathetic animals dressed up in expensive clothes and shiny trinkets. Complete and utter shadows of the men that came before. Not a single man of honor among them, cowards all. Shame, shame, shame.

look i have nothing against the Jewish people, but here is a young nation in the middle of big nations that really don't like them, if i were the people of Israel, I would just move. It seems to me that Israel is looking for an excuse to attack Iran, using religion,or the threat of some catistrophic threat to spread they're religious idiology.

'Lamshade maker' appears to be a nazzi who can't spell 'Lampshade Maker' correctly. In World War II, the nazzis used the skin of Jews for lampshades. How deranged is that! Basically demented serial killers. Some of these blogs rate far below the marker for very low-intelligence views. The funny part is that all the races that have spent thousands of years in the mediteranean area have married each other and had children through the ages. So if your heritage is from anywhere near Israel, I'll bet you have some Israeli DNA in you. So go hate yourself in a corner, you horses ass!

By and large, I have no problem with the Israeli people. But we're beyond tapped out. If they haul off and attack you, that's one thing. If you haul off an attack Iran, or bomb facilities and get a war on your hands, then you know what? The US does NOT have your back on this one. We're broke, we're tired, we have our own issues to deal with. If you provoke a war, you better know what the hell you're doing.
