Pakistan military relations returning in 'fits and starts'

Two U.S. military liaison officers have returned to Peshawar, Pakistan in the last week or so to help coordinate communications regarding
border operations, a Pentagon spokesman said Thursday. The officers were removed at Pakistan's request last November after a border strike
by US and NATO forces that killed two dozen Pakistani troops.

Coordination between Pakistan military and the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), which includes the U.S. military, is returning in "fits and starts" and communications are improving, said Capt. John Kirby at a Pentagon press conference.

Kirby said Pakistan requested the return of the officers. The US and Pakistan continue to negotiate the reopening of border crossings for war
supplies which were also closed last November.

The American invasion of Afghanistan brought to the forefront the irrelevance of India as a nation. With a population of over 1.2 billion people there was no value that this nation could bring to the table. Their soldiers (ragtag) 1.2million continue hiding in the trenches scared from Talibans. A few teenage Talibans invaded the country and held it hostage for days on end showing how useless India is. It was embarrasing for the world to observe this humiliation of a nation that was being touted as a regional power. The Talibans brought them down in a few days with some BB guns. It is all over for India. Its demise is in process and should be completed with Afghanistan withdrawal. We certainly would like a separate state for Sikhs as the events unfold. Please help us achieve our goals. VOTE KHALISTAN !!!

Pakistan’s WMD Assets keep the neighbors and the world awake by its mere military symbolism both defensive and offensive. Therein lies its beauty as a deterrent. The delivery system also has been perfected by Pakistan for medium range conflict which includes a 1500+ mile range. Current focus is on rapid deployment with MIRMs. One can draw his or her own conclusions by looking at a map. This strategy has enabled Pakistan to emerge and coronate itself as a regional military power in West Central Asia virtually without any competition.

I worked with many Pakistani in saudi Arabia, they do not listen ever they only keep talking and ask for "proof" and if you give them proof then they blame the west and US for everything.I told them during the Iraq war that the US would take Bagdad in a month and they laughed in my face.(they took it the next day so I was wrong) The Pakistani are the originators of all terrorism in the world.I watched W5 25 years ago and they had a story of the "madracas" in pakistan and the training they gave 5 years old was to kill American and western people because we were infidels and evil.Your day coming pakistan.Your nuclear weapons mean nothing for 20 years now they can be shot down but within ten years you be invaded by India and US or turned into black glass.Unfortunately we cannot negotiate and come agreement with animals so we have to use the same methods the gengis Khan,or your hero Saladin used

    PAKISTAN !!!!

THANK YOU …. THANK YOU…. THANK YOU!!!!
FOR MAKING USA SAFE FOR MAKING THE WORLD SAFE>>>>>>>>>>>>
Since Sep 11, 2001, over 200,000 Pakistani civilians, armed forces personnel have either sacrificed their lives or wounded; more than 3.5 million have been displaced while the country has lost over US $ 1Trillion due to terrorism.

Despite sacrifices, Pakistan was still engaged in 'the war for world peace”.

No other country has even come close to selflessly sacrificing so much.

Pakistan, no one can ever repay you enough for your contributions.
You deserve a permanent seat in the UN Security Council for your contributions to world peace and emergence of a new world order. We welcome your rise as the new regional military power. God Speed.

Forgot about Aghoris/Hindu cult's barbaric practices, Panetta needs to put India's feet to the fire if it wants America's support and financial assistance. Look at what the peaceful man Gandhi's real character was like. I don't want to be associated with a country with such leaders and don't want my tax dollars wasted there. The present leader Manhmohan Singh needs to come clean with corruption/bribery/graft charges he is currently facing.
Maybe we will be better off with further cultivating relationship with Pakistan and this time committting ourselves to them.
They have more potential than any other country in the region.

    Sadly Gandhi
Among the various charges disclosed in the book: Gandhi not only slept in beds with young women under the age of 18, but also engaged in a long-term, gay affair with German-Jewish architect and bodybuilder Hermann Kallenbach, for whom India's peace icon at one point left his wife in 1908. As the Wall Street Journal reports:

So, your problem with India is based on the behavior of someone who's been dead for decades?? You MUST be from the region. Keep hanging onto those ancient grudges. Just look around to see what holding onto the past can do for you! Gandhi slept with kids and men? And Pakis throw acid in girl's faces and set their wives on fire... TODAY. You're saying India's past is worse than Pakistan's present, and I'm saying you're full of it.

Past is just a mirror to the present. Lets fast forward to TODAY. Enjoy your medieval heritage and dark present/TODAY.

In some Haryana villages in India, the young girls are routinely threatened, abused and killed all under Khap (tribe/clan) verdicts. It is acceptable for the families to feed pesticide pills to the teenage girls and then dispose off their bodies by burning them without any police records.

What was the age of consent in the USA in the early 1900's, Maria? I believe it was somewhere between 12 and 14, depending on where you lived. Your argument is weak on India being bad and Pakistan being good.
Doobie Gietz- The same can be said for Pakistan. I'm not defending India, I'm saying that your justification is hollow when it's used to prop up Pakistan.

Ah Ha. Finally, you shed your skin. You an Indian sympathizer...shall we say..... Pakistan basher. it appears that these are not arguments or justifications as you phrase it but mere facts put forth by the authors. What you are suggesting is irrelevant to the discussion, misconstrued and in USA we call it splitting hair. BTW for your info Gandhi died in 1948 and age of consent in early 1900s in USA (most states) was 18 yrs. So I don't believe the author was referring to the US War of Independence time period as you imply (humor). Irrespective these are not only legal issues but also moral and cultural. The point being that most americans abhor barbaric and medieval practices in cultures irrespective of where they are including their own country. So striving to improve oneself is not a bad thing.

I, for one, do believe that based on size, demographics, geographic competitive advantages etc Pakistan is much more poised for sustainable growth and emergence as a regional leader than any of the neighbors. Factors and Countries and circumstances that have held Pakistan behind since the 1980s will be overcome and the country will propel forward. It is at that crossroads and has a lot of countries worried and anxious.

If Pakistan is left alone, it will never change its behavior and will continue to suck the US aid. Obama, Hillary, Panetta, CIA, Senate and Congress need to keep the pressure on Pakistanis. Political, financial and military pressure on Pakistanis is needed to make them change their despicable behavior.

Panetta needs to have Indians change their barbaric culture if they want American aid and help in keeping Pakistan at bay from nuking India.

The Aghori or Aghouri is an Indian Hindu cult that is considered to have split off from the Kapalika order in the fourteenth century AD. They have cannibalistic rituals. The streets of northern Indian cities are littered with followers of this cult carrying a kapala, which is a cup made from a skull! These bizarre people will eat anything from rotten food to animal faeces. In order to achieve the highest citadel of enlightenment, the Aghori will perform horrendously crude rituals. The finality of their rituals is attained from eating the decaying flesh of a human.

Across all religions and cultures it is a basic tenet of human decency that human lives are valued and apologies are offered to the aggrieved by those responsible for the deaths. It nothing more, the words of apology are soothing to the families of those who died. In this case, Pakistan's contention is that Afghan forces and Indian intelligence deliberately provided misleading information to US/NATO forces and used them to kill 24 Pakistani paramilitary soldiers.

Due to the prevailing political climate in USA and the incumbent president in election mode, the apology appears to be forthcoming after preventive measures are put in place to minimize political outfall, polls are conducted to gage the effect and a face saving exit from Afghanistan has been figured out. It is a matter of time. Meantime, it will be a gesture of utmost magnanimity and generosity by Pakistan to continue to enable friends and allies to achieve common goals by offering their resources and stand with them shoulder to shoulder. This is what separates men from boys. Of course, we don't expect Pakistan to offer any more free lunches to anyone.
