Chinese activists says he wants to go to U.S.

By Steven Jiang

The Chinese activist who left the refuge of the U.S. Embassy in Beijing said Thursday that he regrets the move and now wants U.S. officials to help get him and his family to the United States.

"I want them to protect human rights through concrete actions," Chen Guangcheng told CNN from his hospital room in Beijing. "We are in danger. If you can talk to Hillary, I hope she can help my whole family leave China."

Chen was referring to U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who arrived Wednesday for economic talks and found herself in the middle of a diplomatic firestorm.

His comments left the U.S. government battling to defend the deal it brokered with the Chinese authorities over Chen's future, with human rights advocacy groups questioning whether China would uphold its side of the bargain.

Is it just me or is this guy playing both sides for his own gain? First he goes to our embassy requesting asylum, then he leaves the embassy for the hospital, agreeing with the Chinese government on a university job and to live anywhere in China and now he DEMANDS the U.S. to bring him and his family here. I wouldn't want to be in Clinton's position right now as this fool is playing with her and her positionin front of the international media. I say apoligize to China, and let them deal with this idiot.

well we have the egypt american detainee thing that cost big bucks to get out of . and now we take a guy in and than release him back to the wolves and than we have his cry for help.

well may i say that in the carter pres years many americans were protected in a canadian embassy in iran while the iranians hunted for them, this went on for some time but with wisdom and shut lips the safety and freedom of the americans was a great success .
now what was so hard about thinking this through before acting , that has resulted in another obama flop on the world stage . authority and power does not mean that the gift of smarts and wisdom comes with the power.
if anyone is going to wave a flag lets do it after the job is completed.
